I noticed that there are no Heretic 2 downloads available (not that they'd do me any good), despite having registered it. I thought there used to be, so I assume they'll be added back again at some point? |
Still haven't gotten around to move the files from the old site over. I'll do that as soon as I finished the admin backend, right now, I had to manually enter the files into the database :) _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail

Good to see the new site up. However, could you please not send the password that users choose in their activation email. |
No idea whether the CMS we use can be configured that way. I agree that sending passwords via E-Mail is not a good idea, if I cannot configure it I have to hack the PHP source. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail

| The new sii0680ide driver seems to have fixed the problems I was seeing.
The v53.1 a1ide driver was very slow copying big files. Would be nice if a user could test the copy time of a big file (700MB-1GB). Us torrent dl'ers were the first to complain. I'd test myself, but I have an 0680 card now.
Thanks, Hyperion! _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid...

IIRC, disabling compositing (or at least transparency of inactive windows) is also an alternative to increasing app priority to 0 or greater.
|
Yes that's true. But using a SB is still flaky IMO. When I heard OS4.1 would have HW accelerated compositing I immediately threw out my SB Audigy because I was pretty it would just lock up all the time.
Now I can load large digicam pictures and scroll them around without risking a lockup, and also use WarpView. I couldn't do that for very long with the SB. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| Strange... I've had a Soundblaster Live 5.1 (IIRC) in mine and haven't noticed any problems. Compositing is always turned on, I'm usually playing music, and I often have many windows open, though I rarely do anything with huge files or 3D games. Is it something that is related to certain A1 boards? I've an A1-XE G4... _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X

No, it doesn't - but I don't see anything on the site that requires Javascript, apart from the account conversion page? _________________ "Miracles we do at once, the impossible takes a little longer" - AJS on Hyperion Avatar is Tabitha by Eric W Schwartz

Some of the other pages require it as well. I think the download page works as-is, but e.g. the product registration requires JavaScript. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail

Darn it. I always show up late for the party. I used iBrowse and encountered ZERO troubles from beginning to end. So everybody already ironed out the kinks.
But it was fun reading all the posts. It was like being in a frenzied crowd. Certainly more fun than "hump day" at work.
Thanks (for being good natured). ggw _________________ ..effects of civilization upon...nature, the growing gap between what education was supposed to accomplish and what it consisted of, the national debt and...high taxes, the problem of the excess cost of medical care -- Philip Wylie, 1951

I suppose it depends where you work... If you worked for Playboy magazine I'd imagine that would be a rather good day!

| I have four iterations of OS4 installed with OS4.1 with the highest priority and the others I think with less than 0 priority if I remember -1.
If is a question of the priorities maybe this partitions must be changed to a higher priority?
I have my Amiga One out of my hands but I know I had to lower the priorities to try to boot various AmigaOS at the same time. _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER

| Yes I have memtester ready to test RAM but the last time I runned without advisable warnings about my RAM memory.
The vcore is a another thing I noticed could be changed for better but I don't know very much apart from the A1's manual intructions.
Can someone help me to understand better the vcore of my Amiga?
And about the sound card don't get worried because I had an SB128 installed until last summer when I buyed a new ESI JULI sound card for the better overall sound it has over the Sounblaster 128 as someone suggested me on AmigaWorld forums.
What are the advantages of changing the vcores higher or lower? _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER

| Nice to see the hyperion website backup again... and the updates. I'm guessing there are no plans for updates for OS 4.0 classic?

No no! It has nothing to do with boot priorities of the HD partitions!
It is the task priority of the programs you run. Normally everything runs at priority 0 which is default and fine, but in scripts and some programs the priority could be changed for whatever reasons.
The priority can be set in every program's icon if you run them from Workbench. (It's the one labelled "Priority:", next to "Stack size:". It is not the one labellet "Start priority:".) _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

Yes, something is lost. When you reach the half way mark of your work week we call that crossing the hump. It is all up hill until you reach the hump. From then on it is all down hill. Hence, the middle day is called Hump Day.
I could also tell you what a Hump Strap is, but you will have to ask.
