| Agreed. I have an html.datatype which I think was written by Sebastian Bauer. It would be great to display simple pages like manuals or tutorials. For such task it would not need to have all webkit features. I still wonder why nobody updated it :-/ _________________ Philippe 'Elwood' Ferrucci Sam460 1.10 Ghz AmigaOS 4 betatester Amiga Translator Organisation

Are the source codes for any of these available? _________________ The Rear Window blog

| @ Andy : if I understand what happens in the video, you need a dropbox and drag all files in it so that it gets listed in Multiviewer. Is that so ? so no double click anymore ?
What I always missed in Multiview was that after you close it, it would not remind the last files I viewed so I had to always dig in the dir tree if I need to view the same file again. |

And? You want me to develop a datatype based on a MUI class? _________________ The Rear Window blog

No you misunderstood the video completely (well there wasn't much explanation, so hardly your fault).
The video shows MultiViewers ability to watch a directory, and signal an arexx script when it changes, this allows you to automatically display any new files in that directory. (or do anything else you might want the script to do).
Normal drag and drop works, drop on the main area to display immediatly, drop on the lister area to add to file list without replaceing the displayed object. _________________ BroadBlues On Blues BroadBlues On Amiga Walker Broad

| This has obvious allusions to MultiView and does the same sort of thing including using the datatype system, so I have ask here, why reinvent the wheel? It looks like a MultiView replacement with a lawsuit. If the intent is to provide a better MultiView, why not just commision Andy to write an official replacement? |

Because A-EON does not own OS4, and Hyperion the owner is unable to pay Andy? _________________ The Rear Window blog

Lawsuit ? It's name might be similar but it's not the same, the similarity is to indicate equivalent purpose. I'm really not sure that the plain MultiView name is trademarked, but even if not it would clearly bad form to call it the same thing.
As to reiventing the wheel. MultiViews wheel was made of wooden spokes and steel rim, MultiViewers has a pneumatic tyre and light weight alloy hub.
More seriously a significant amount of rewritting would be needed anyway as MultiViewer offers many more features than MultiView. (Important note: there is *no* OS src code in MultuViewer)

It's an A-EON conceived and commisioned project, so hyperion abilty to pay is irrelavant, I would think this combination is best in many was as Hyperions funds where available may directed to the cores devs for more in depth OS work, and AEON can direct funds to application level developers.Last edited by broadblues on 05-Jun-2015 at 05:31 PM.

Maybe it would be better to use image from path selected in Pref Gui Style
Prefs/Presets/Default/Common/Bitmaps/ Specific Style (from pref) / Close or SClose (don't know the difference) |

Certainly not, those images are in the wrong format and can't be guaranetee to be there, those images should only be accessed via sysiclass and it's too big for a tab, being designfor the window titlebar. _________________ BroadBlues On Blues BroadBlues On Amiga Walker Broad

| Had a look at Epsilon's sneak peak. This is the first time I've seen such extensive use of menu graphics. So this is thanks to the Final Edition, I presume?
WIll there be more programs utilising such menu graphics?

MVerNG makes use of menuclass, which was released with Final Edition yes.
menuclass make adding imagery trivial but that is the least of it, it makes menus much much easy it lots of ways, including the ability to hide menu sections dynaically. One example in MVer is the simple Save As... menu item for general datatypes and the multiformat version for Pictures. _________________ BroadBlues On Blues BroadBlues On Amiga Walker Broad

The existence of a nearly 20-year-old datatype is quite irrelevant if the sources are not available. _________________ The Rear Window blog

| menuclass is part of Final Edition you'll need to new SDK when it comes available.
I have it ofcourse (or at least a variant on it) as being a beta tester one of my jobs is testing the SDK parts of the OS.
menuclass is an exception piece of work that makies menus trivial, sooo much easier than Gadtools. _________________ BroadBlues On Blues BroadBlues On Amiga Walker Broad

Thx for explanations Broadblues. _________________ http://apps.amistore.net/zTools
