Software News   Software News : DvPlayer DVD plugin
   posted by afxgroup on 12-Sep-2006 15:43:09 (10214 reads)
This is a DvPlayer DVD plugin based on libdvdcss present in MPlayer

Copy the file dvdvcd.plugin into your DvPlayer/dvplugins directory. This
replaces the original dvdvcd.plugin which comes with DvPlayer, so you might
want to make a backup of the original.

You should see the Crypted DVD with DVPlayer.

The plugin is available here

Enjoy

@Samwel

I've not actually experienced to much problem. In fact, I I'm running the system with UDMA turned on.
Once in a while when copying large files from another computer to my A1 over the lan, things break down. Otherwise, I don't notice to many ill effects with a soundblaster Live and DMA on.

@GrumpyOldMan:

Something very fishy goes there. Can you send the full grimreaper logs to me, please?
Does it works with the NOAUDIO argument?
Does that disc works with mplayer?

What DVD drive are you using?

OS4 version? Is it update#4 ?

@Chip

I sent you the crash log via PM.

Using 'noaudio' works, I no longer get the GR or other error messages. Mplayer could not play the track either, but produces no error messages. My DVD drive is Liteon DVD/CD-RW Combo connected to a1ide.device. I now have another drive (a Liteon DVD burner) connected to SiI0680, I'll try that once I figure out how I can make the DVPlayer see the drive. I am using OS4 Pre-Release Update 4.

Edit: I do actually get the same GR with noaudio, if I try to skip forward (right arrow key) while the movie is playing. Just guessing here, but maybe it tries to enable audio again and fails. And the new DVD burner fails to recognise "The Crow" DVD, so maybe that disk really is faulty

Edit2: Ok, found the culprit - the a52 library was apparently corrupted, and replacing it with the new one from OS4Depot cured the problems. No more GRs and DVDs are now working ok.
