The USB 2.0 support was not deemed ready for release because of insufficient testing.

Does the update fix the FAT-formated USB sticks bug? Can I mount safely a USB stick without trashing its contents (I can wait for the 2.0 )?

Install the SLB from the Update 1 ISO to your harddrive and you can use SFS/2 for your boot partition.

OK, thanks for confirming that this is a new thing for Update 1. I was only commenting based upon earlier OS4 releases.

Not directly, no.

The best way to update is to install the updated OS to a new partition and then create a 3rd partition where you copy the update and then add your old stuff on top of it. That way you still have your original 4.1 and the 4.1u1 to compare or fallback to in case of problems.

Surely easiest way to "Upgrade" is to backup your current install. Fresh install 4.1.1 and then copy all your files back to the Sys: drive but don't replace any existing files?

That way you will have your old setup but with the new system files.

i would not recommend copying your old files over a 4.1 update 1 install,
unless you do it with great care, as some system files have moved and some are removed,
so chanses are you'll end up with a system that contains a lot of outdated files.

I really hope that now it scans dir when in was 1000+ files at a decent speed...
The OLD ReqTools Requesters scans files MANY time faster than current ASL....

Not if you do like I say, and just don't overwrite existing files, so the only files that are copied are ones that are not part of the 4.1.1 install.

Directory contents update automatically so you don't have to select Update from the menu to see new files.

Try again tomorrow morning.

Looks like a lot of new stuff there. Impressive, lots for OS4 users to sink their teeth into. I am awaiting an X1000 before I lay my money down, by then even more features!
