Details
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the first public test version of AmigaWorld.net's Amiga Dome. The Amiga Dome was designed for Amiga enthusiasts. The Amiga Dome is based on the Amiga Boing! demo from 1984. RJ Mical and Dale Luck, two of the original Amiga Inc members created and showed their famous Boing! demo to potential investors to demonstrate the Amiga's revolutionary multimedia capabilities at the time. The demo showed a sphere with red and white rectangles on it rotating and bouncing around to the screen. The Boingball is now an official Amiga logo.
Since the introduction of the Amiga 1000 in 1985 the platform has been at the forefront of multimedia and games developments for nearly a decade. The platform survived due to a vivid worldwide user community and the Amiga platform is now making a comeback! The latest developments and Amiga community news can be followed at the AmigaWorld.net community portal.
Known Problems
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have noticed a few BSP holes around but none of them are "critical". A few can be seen at certain positions within and outside the Dome. For the final version we intend to fix these.

I hope there is an Amiga version once OS4 hits. There have been rumors, but I haven't heard anyone confirm if it is true or not. Since that is the primary game I play, I would definitely purchase a new version for the AmigaOne and OS4 if available.

This is also the only game I've created maps with/for. I could take a look at Quake II and see if it's something that I may be able to do. I started trying to learn mapping with Serious Sam a couple of years ago, but it seemed to difficult at the time. It was only with UED2.0 that I was able to actually create something. Once you get the basic ideas, it's not too bad to actually make something. But it takes alot of thinking an work to create a map that looks good, plays good, and is fun.

This AmigaDome map was the original idea of BB_Drac. He built the map but never released it. It was originally made with a nightime space themed sky, and lots of outdoor spotlights.

We decided that we liked the map, but wanted a daytime theme with blue skys, waterfalls, palm trees, birds flying around, and fish in the water around the dome. Actually, Mike kept making the suggestions and I kept adding them. Then we needed a good soundtrack, so that's where Magic2003 came in. He put to gether the tracker mod and I imported it and converted to UMX format for the level. I think it all works together pretty well. There are a few more suggestions in the que, but we want to test out the map live and get input.

I think we need an amigagame server(Quake2 or Freespace), not a UT PC server, pfui.

Well, I had a few issues... I couldn't see the birds and fish, and the waterfall texture was wrong at the bottom. Those were the only things I noticed.

Anyone else?
