| I have loved Diskmaster since V1.3! Keep up the good work, and I am so glad to see it is running on OS 4.0!

| How do you make DM2 remember the font and screenmode? It looks like the perfect filemanager for my needs but I hate topaz and I dont like selecting a screenmode everytime I run it.
-Edit- I figured it out.. I saved the config file as Startup.DM, and you cant use antialiased fonts.. it uses topaz if you try to. So now its opening on its own screen without asking which screenmode to use, and using a decent font. :) |

Good for you! How about submitting this news to MorphZone or your own pegasosforum.de then, so we AmigaOS4 supporters can go on there to tell MOS fans how great it runs on AmigaOS4! Just kidding of course. |

Did you miss the smiley or do you have no sense of humor?
I did not really mean for AOS4 supporters to go onto MOS dedicated websites to promote or inform about a rival product like AOS4. IMO that would be counter productive to say the least.
But I really do wonder why DJBase did not post this as news at his own website if this runs well enough with MorphOS that he has to tell us here. |

Is that a smiley in the "I'll insult you, but then put a smiley after it and it will all be okay" category?
All DJBase did was inform people (possibly the author?!) that the program ran on MorphOS - there wasn't really any need for sniping comments IMO. Frankly, unless his post broke the terms and conditions of this site then there wasn't really any issue.
I wonder if you would say the same thing if, perhaps, I told you that Diskmaster runs great on UAE/Amithlon?
PS. I do have a sense of humour, but generally things have to be humorous to inspire it

Well Ian, I guess this is just a case where different people (due to whatever reason) have a different sense for humor.
I thought it was funny he brought up MOS here but does not write about it at his own website or at other MOS websites. Out of curiosity as to why this is the case and the fact that I believe this is a funny situation made me make this comment.
As I think it would be counter productive to go onto MOS dedicated websites to advocate AmigaOS4 in any way (not mixed websites, but dedicated ones), I do have some curiosity to know why various MOS or AROS supporters, including Dealer & Webmaster figures, think so differently with regard to this. |

I agree, going out of your way to advocate AOS4 on a MOS site, or advocate MOS on this site is very pathetic - especially when the sole intention is to wind people up.
However, I also think it's a bit much that every comment saying "this runs well on MOS" is greeted with the usual "we don't want your MOS comments here". As far as I can see, the original comment wasn't particularly advocating MOS, simply saying that this piece of software runs well on it. Please don't take this as me personally attacking you - I'm sure it applies to many people.
Really, IMO that is all that needed to be said on the matter - and whilst I can certainly appreciate your frustration with the petty troublemakers who visit this site preciscely with the intention of getting moderated so they can complain about it on another site, I don't believe that every comment about MorphOS doing something positively should be made into such a big issue.
Whilst yourself and others may not be interested in MorphOS, I feel that "jokes" like yours in this thread (however well intended) simply serve to make matters worse - especially when coming from Moderators/Administrators. You may as well hand out ammunition to the usual crew
But that's just my two pence of course.

Are you saying you can't get it to run with Anti-aliased fonts or just that the saver screws up and puts it back to topaz? I have this entry in my start.dm and I run anti-aliased fonts with NO problems.
Font DIRWIN="BitStream Vera Sans Mono.font" 20 DIRGAD="Bitstream Vera Sans.font" 20
Not sure if that helps or not. (Yes, I'm a big DM2 fan). |

I got the humor in your statment. I agree that text based forms of communication are sometimes easy to get the wrong meaning, but saying that you were "just kidding" with a cheeky little wink at the end, to me, said you were just pulling his leg as it were. _________________

Point taken, but I saw it as a snide remark rather than humour (think wrongpla.net)

Maybe put a notice in front of AW "Only real AmigaOS related comments are allowed!"?
I only wanted to let the author know that his application also works on MorphOS. Maybe he will be happy with this information and he can say to himself, "hey, good work. It works on all platforms.".
I see no problem where I should post it. I saw the news first here so I write the comment here. Do we have here dictatorship or democracy? _________________ AMIGA 1200 | Vampire 1200 II | 128 MB RAM | Indivision AGA Mk3 | 128 GB CF | AmigaOS 3.2.2 AMIGA 600 | Vampire 600 II | 128 MB RAM | Indivision ECS Mk4 | 128 GB CF | AmigaOS 3.2.2

Maybe you should just read this whole thread again?

Rudolph can be reached at rudolph-DOT-riedel@t-online.de
You will have a much better chance of actually reaching him by email. It seemed to me like you wanted to inform our audience (it's no secret we target AmigaOS4 interested people) that DM2 runs well with MorphOS. Surely you would agree that such information would be far more useful for actual MorphOS users to know than it would be for AmigaOS4 users, so why not write about this at your Peg news site?

What do you think? DaveyD could be considered President if you insist on using such an analogy. AmigaWorld.net is nowadays the second biggest Amiga portal (after amiga-news.de) and I believe this fact could be considered a democratic vote of confidence for the general direction this website has taken and its leadership. We do not pressure people into visiting. Of course we also do attract a small degree of trolls, but this is to be expected as they generally go where there is an audience for them to preach to. |

It was defaulting to topaz when I tried to use an antialiased font.. and yes your example just made me realise the problem was there were spaces in the fontname! so I put quotes around it in startup.dm.. " " .. and it works fine now. Thanks!!!!! |
