@sicky

Cool! Will have to get over to the web-site and order it! I've read issue #19 just about to "death" (it's on my night stand!).

Hey Ken, any chance of you writing an article on how to do Icons for AOS? what programs you would recommend etc?

Would love to read that in issue 21

@Mikey_C

What? Give away all my secrets?

I'm afraid that the way I do it isn't too "glamorous" -- I paint the images in a paint program and use Icon Editor to put them together.

--------

BTW, I actually started installing the v2.0 icons on MY system last night (I know, I know -- the cobbler's children have no shoes!).

I don't believe it! That is what I was just about to private mail him and ask him myself!

We would be very interested in such an article, how to create your own icons, what programs you use and maybe a tutorial etc.

I know I would be very interested myself

I wouldn't worry Ken, cause basically, you can't teach talent, which you have loads off, however, I would love to have a go myself

Even if your approach is not fancy or innovative, I would still be very interested to see what you do and how you do it. Your work is quite beautiful.

Although I have used Icon Edit to tweek images and add color to icons on a couple of occasions, I've never imported a graphic from a painting program or image processor into the editor before. Similarly, I have always been intrigued by the idea of installing (in one go if that is possible) a batch of new icons like yours or others I have seen in workbench screengrabs on the web and then have them magically go where they are supposed to go. Or is it a painstaking icon by icon procedure? Answers to these questions would be useful.

Unfortunately, I've never seen the procedure described anywhere and, frankly, the different types of icons on the Amiga baffle me a bit. I would love to read and see an overview of how icons are organized on the Amiga and how you, as an artist go about creating and developing a new icon with descriptions of the software involved. It would also be great if you or the editors at Total Amiga could include references to other custom sets of icons and related programs for icon manipulation and importation that available on the Amiga.

Sincerely,

Dan N.
