1. (Not OS4 related) Why PPCBoot/UBoot instead of OpenFirmware? Was it MAI's decision or Hyperions?

2. If Hyperion had a license, which of the three next-gen consoles (PS3/XBox360/Revolution) would the programmers prefer to port OS4 to? Go ahead, poll them.

3. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

1. Will the appicon placement bug in WB be fixed in upd3 or the final release? You have got to know what I'm talking about and it's just a simple +-1 mistake somewhere. Iconify app A, then B, now deiconify A and iconify it again. It should be place between the last disk and appicon B (where it was just automatically placed) but it isn't, now it gets places after B, leaving a hole between the last disk and B, which is VERY annoying because the appicons tend to climb over each other when many app-programs are used over time.

2. Will an updated IBrowse (with updated javascript) be available with the release of OS4?

3. Is there already, or will there be an USB driver for webcams (usable through e.g. VHI Studio) available in OS4 final (or upd3)?

guyz listen up......Apple just did us a major favor

we can now court (work on) those mac developers to port their ppc software to the amiga !

we can take back the amiga video market if we want to, it just ours to take
and the video market can sustain the Amiga, just as it did before.

lets get organized, we have two years.

Following Apples move into the "universal binary" for both ports of software. Can we produce a quick OS4 porting software system? So in the future we can quick port (mac to AmigaOS4), or would a JIT setup for mac ppc software in OS4 be a better way to go?.

1.will there be any media players in the final os4.0 (pre release has moovid...), with media player i mean one that can do every format in one package (music/movies/radio etc)

Moovid has been updated for this or will it remain as it has the last year(s).

2. planned games ? , will os4 come with commercial games or atleast will there be any commercial games on the release of os4?

(especially thinking about stuff like hyperion released for classic )

3.has there been any effort to bring "bigger" projects aboard the OS4 tour? (ala commercial tools or game developers and so on...)

4. i sorely want an MSN client for amiga , will os4.0 bring me this?
(currently i use bitlbee/jabber but to be quite honest i feel they could have been much better)

5. will i be able to play protected dvds (encrypted?) on my Amiga with os4.0final ?

Question: How many different CPUs does Amiga OS 4.x now support? What are they?

Question: Is AmigaDE now integrated into Amiga OS 4.x? If not, when will integration be completed? Either way, if AmigaDE is to be hosted on other platforms, and presumably this is to be 32-bit software, what do you intend to be the gameplan regarding integration of it into a 64-bit environment (that of the OS itself)?

Question: What month will OS 4.x be released? What year?

Question: Has Hyperion investigated or researched the AMD64 platform? As several sources on the net (including Hyperion's own website) indicate that there is no bias one way or another toward CPU--be it PPC or x86-64--has Hyperion already made advances toward writing in x86-64 compatability with Amiga OS 4.x?.

Will there be a representive of Hyperion at Big Bash 3 ?

1) Is Amiga OS 4 FINAL aimed at just Amiga users, or outside the community too ?

2) We can all estimate the sales of OS4 for Amiga users, has Hyperion estimated how far outside the community it wishes to reach ?

3) Following on, how many sales of OS4 does Hyperion need to break even with current costs ?

4) One way would be to get Eyetech to mass produce motherboards Eg 50,000 units, if Eyetech does not have the funds for this many motherboards, does Hyperion have satisfactory funds in place ?

5) Is Hyperion happy with the AmigaOne specs, what would you want added or removed ?

6) Is Hyperion happy with the MAI chipset, quality & performance wise ?

7) When OS 4 sales are saturated, What can Hyperion do to keep the momentum going in OS4 sales & development ?

8) Does Hyperion have a marketing strategy for OS 4, what is it and what is its duration & media target?

9) Is Hyperion disturbed about the problem of customers not getting their motherboards & knowing this effects OS4 sales, what is Hyperions thinking in this area or are their any safeguards or lessons to be learnt ?

10) Does Hyperion have any agreements in place for securing Amiga distribution channels in the high street/ retail outlets ? or is it too early for this ?

11) What are the steps needed to increases the Amiga user base and what obstacles (if any) does Hyperion forsee ?

13) Is Hyperion satisfied with the current RAD tools available ?

14) Has Hyperion contacted any computer case designers ?

15) Does Hyperion have any preference for the retail release of A1/OS4 as motherboard bundle or complete system with OS 4 ?

16) Lastly do you wholeheartedly believe that Hyperion are the BEST Amiga programmers on the planet ?

Been a long time.

Hope you're doing well.

There have been quite a few hints dropped by Hyperion indicating that they would like to take OS4.x to the new IBM/Sony/Toshiba Cell processor. Is this just wishful thinking or theoretical speculation? ---A possible "plan B" in case PPC chips become difficult to acquire? ---Or is this definitely on the planned road-map for the future of OS4.x?
