| All, an AW poll is available here if you'd like to try to keep track of orders, or let people know you've placed your order. Also added link into News item. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

| Still it is a lot cheaper than office 2000 for windows.
And We really do need this for AOS 4.0
I will not preorder right now, but I will buy it when I buy an A1. _________________

| I plan to preorder, but I have a couple very expensive weeks coming up starting Monday and I'll need to wait a few weeks to be able to afford it. The Exchange rate is currently not kind to us Americans, but I should be able to swing the payment second week of July. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad!

| The preorder phase will last several weeks, even months..
Then Hyperion needs to get some boards from Eyetech to ship to Titan before anything is done. This will take some time.. Late September at the earliest, is when a beta might appear IMHO. _________________ /Harry

| More importantly at this stage, Titan would need to enter into the standard agreement from Hyperion relating to provision of hardware to third party developers.
I'm afraid Hyperion cannot afford to hand developers blank cheques in the form of hardware without contractually agreed upon results.
Especially not when two boards are being requested. _________________

I am a little confused that the 68k version is still listed as a 68k OS4 platform supported version. I have only read reports of your port of Papyrus failing with AmigaOS4 and I have yet to read any stories of success. Does this mean these wellknown and seemingly universal issues have already been taken care of and that Papyrus 68k has now been properly tested with the current Pre-release of AmigaOS4?
Also will the orders from the kind people who already bought Papyrus with usage of AmigaOS4 in mind (listed as a supported platform) be added to the amount of required pre-orders? Last edited by MikeB on 17-Jun-2005 at 06:25 AM. Last edited by MikeB on 17-Jun-2005 at 06:18 AM.

Then it would be fair to preorder only when this agreement has been settled. I hope you'll bring us updated about it.

| I'm tempted to pre-order, even though I haven't bought an A1 yet, as the 68k version should work on Amithlon. Does anyone know if I'd still be able to get updates to the 68k version, if I did buy the OS4 version? If not, then Titan will have to wait until after OS4 has been officially released... _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. | To encourage more pre-orders they could have a 2nd target of say 80 that would bring the price down by 10 euros for everyone? |

glad to hear it !
does it need to be an AmigaOne system ?
I would be happy to provide Beta Test on my AmigaOne (OS4 pre-upd3,P96, 512MB, RAM, G3 - 800MHz 750FX)
@HyperionMP
if they have PPC accelerated classic machines, could a B/CSPPC Beta + SDK not suffice ? _________________ XH558 - the worlds last flying Vulcan. ok, its actually XL426 in the picture but you know what I mean.

Hmmm. Should thre be a contingency in the preorder agreement in case the hardware provision thing is never able to come to agreement? As in, if no OS4-native version actually gets made, I do not want a 68K version, and I do not want to pay for a 68K version that never actually gets the OS4-native "upgrade download" or whatever.
Does Titan have any comments on this possibility? Would we all get full refunds, if the item we preordered and paid for being OS4-native might not actually get shipped to us for some reason? Many of us have been burned by preorder schemes falling apart before, And being this expensive from my side of the pond, I hope I don't get burned on this one too after I get my own preordersubmitted in a couple weeks. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad!

Sadly I guess so. I have read postings from some people who are (were?) dissapointed with the performance on MorphOS (G3/G4 CPUs) (haven't used it myself, so please correct me if I am wrong here!). So classic (OS4/PPC) support doens't seem likely to me.
However on the other hand I also read some posts from Atari TOS users who are very happy with Papyrus Office. So I guess that version must be very well optimised for MUCH slower 68k CPUs.Last edited by MikeB on 17-Jun-2005 at 01:12 PM.
