| Good news for all SB Live! users out there! I upgraded to a Terratec from the SB Live! a while back because of the very "issues" with the SB Live!. _________________ After a decade away from the scene, I am back!

| @all
Well, I put "may " in bold.
@Samwel Well, there are some unexplained issues on the microA1 left. The CMI driver will show lost and delayed irq's on serial debug, and IBrowse seems to cause them a lot, while AWebPPC doesn't. But overall, I would say it's getting better. _________________ Audio Evolution http://www.audio-evolution.com

| IMPORTANT Currently it looks like the mixer and emu10k driver listed on OS4depot are still the older versions. The CMI8738 driver is the newer one, however. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

Whatever you finally dig up on this IRQ issue will contribute to the overall stability of OS4. This IRQ issue could be hardware, firmware, or OS4. But at least you have exposed the issue and theoretically someone will come up with "the answer".
Thanks for all your work. |

Good to hear! Thanks for all your hard work on this.
Btw the MIC boost tool you made for the CMI driver, couldn't this be incorporated into the MIxer instead as a checkbox option? Would be alot more professional IMHO.
EDIT: Have you checked with Stefan Burstroem about this problem with IBrowse? Also as a OS4 beta tester you have access to IBrowse 2.4 beta also have you not? So does this version still have problems with the IRQ's or is it bound to 2.3? Last edited by Samwel on 19-Sep-2005 at 09:55 PM.

| well _THIS_ is one news item i've been waiting for since ages!!! i just hope it works well! Maybe it will make my inet connexxxion a bit more stable, i sure hope so. being able to listen to music on my a1 aint, well haha, it ain't bad either. guess you would expect to be able to do that from the moment of purchase, but but.. mumble mumble.. GREAT WORK DAVE! This might eliminate 50% of the network lockups for me. Eagerly awaiting a new ethernet device. Does anyone know if (when finished) the ethernet driver will be uploaded to OS4 depot, or if we will have to wait until 'around x-mas sometime hopefully' ? :)
Hmm ... i spit out a lot more text than I intended, i just wanted to express my gratidude! _________________ AOS4 Betatester, Peg2, G4@1ghz, Radeon 9250 256mb, 1gb RAM.

| Not so scary when you know he help out Davy test the driver.. This bug fix have been atleast a couple of weeks in the making with several people involved.
All this started with Umisef making a comment about the sound problem sounding just the same as they had on Amithlon. A buffer alignment problem. Davy tested this and it didn't work fully, just a little better. There seemed to be some kind of problem still. Like a bug in the hardware or something. Now a week later Davy has made this release in which a IRQ problem has been found. Simply great work of all involved. _________________ /Harry

| All- looks like drivers are now updated at OS4Depot.net replacing the older ones for emu10k and mixer. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

The GUI is auto-generated according to the soundcard. Adding an optional checkbox option is possible, but makes it complicated (layout etc.). Anyway, it should always be on IMHO.

| @spotUP You don't need a new ethernet (eth3com) device, you need the new emu10kx driver which is now on OS4depot, that is, if you have a emu10kx based soundcard. _________________ Audio Evolution http://www.audio-evolution.com

Thanks for the great work, Dave! |

The LineIn of the sound map with the new emu10kx.audio version 6.2 does not function yet. With version 5.16 it goes however. Still one fixes? |
