   posted by Mangaclub on 4-Jan-2006 22:04:28 (4717 reads)
The Anime Development for Amiga Team is proud to announce that they relased the newest GFXEngine version of their SilentHill like Horroradventure as a "Newyear" version. Atm there is only a OS4 port available because of heavy bugs in the WarpOS version. The ADA Team ist now reachable at http://soms.amigaone.de . The Team also is thankful that "amigaone.de" sponsored the webspace.

small screenshot is also availible here:

Gee, all I see are a couple pair of beady eyes looking out of an all black thumbnail.

Clicking on the thumbnails shows me larger beady eyes looking at me out of an all black screen.

Crazy man!

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I think you should turn up the brightness on your monitor.

These screenshots are indeed a bit dark.

Turn up the contrast... the "eyes" are a two-light lamp post!

Edit: @Tomas - yeah, what he said too!

@Tomas
What do you expect from a horror game?

The gfx-engine reminds me of Thief 1, but I don't imagine we'll see a game like that...

BTW, there are actually some eyeballs:

It runs and looks great here. Very atmospheric. Unfortunately it's so dark I can't really see anything that isn't a source of light, when it's more than 10 cm from my face in the game. I know it's supposed to be dark, but some gamma correction is really necessary before I can explore things in the game.
Either that or... anyone got a spare bright monitor?

@moxee

On the monitor I am using here, the page was almost completely black. I could just about make out 2 of the screenshot placeholders.

That webpage is seriously dark, not to mention the game shots. I have had to save the shots and manually increase the gamma setting with Irfanview to be able to see them.....and there is a park bench under some lamps in the snow

And No3 shows some weird gnarly head behind a rusty metal fence.

Thanx..
for those wo think the engine is too dark try following:
open levels/tex/init.sms with notepad
change dynambiente 1 1 1 to dynambiente 20 20 20 or higher/lower values. You have to experiment abit with that.

The engine plays fine, and it's not dark. You are in the dark, but in light places you see well. I found some killed blue butterflies. I think its a symbolism of something.

Not too bad to be honest. I think some of the 3D objects could do with a little work but not too bad.

It's nice to see your self actually has a body when you look down.

Stupid question! It runs fine here on my AmigaOne XE with latest OS4 build, but how do you turn the player view, I can walk forward, backwards, step left and step right but just can't work out how to turn the player.... probably just me being dim!

Calibrate your monitor properly then.
