| An excellent speed increase with this native version over the previous 68K server.

| Oh Thanks ! Good speed improvement, however the refresh of the windows must be improved but i think there is only one solution: with help of the hardware (OpenGL), i'd like see a port of a good internet browser with CSS, DOM and SSL, thanks for support AmigaOS4. _________________ Sam 460EX, 2Gb Ram, Radeon R7 250, AmigaOS4.1 FE A4000 PPC604@233, Mediator A1200 PPC603@160, Mediator uA1 G3@800, 512 Mb [sold]

| I agree. Pretty fast. 2 good news today (the 2.6 kernel and the xserver).
I have to report a problem, though. If I open a xterm from my (a1) linux box to the server on the Amiga it crashes. The machine hangs. This works fine with xami, though (type this thru mozilla on th OS4 server running on the second linux a1). So, connection works, don't know why it just crashes. I have no debug output or other what so ever. _________________ AmigaOne XE G3/933/VIA/FM801/R200 (fixed), G3SE/600/Voodoo3/Sil680/RTL8139/SBLive! | Hi,
Very good news, thank you a lot for your efforts.
It is really refreshing and wholeheartening everytime we (os4 devs) see someone outside of the "inner circle" take up on our work, and achieve something significant like you did. Really :) (this stands true for all the people who contribute to OS4).

| Hi i get a crash here when starting s:startXgeek file. It opens an own white background and the grim appears.
here is also the shell output.
.......
Launching X-Server... running
Launching window-manager (mwm)... running
Init background and pointer... Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
........
I had some other problems that some files had not the protection bit set like toolbar. That time i didnt get a crash but it said it couldnt execute the toolbar. So i used dopus to set all the protection bits rwed. Maybe i should set it on everything to be sure. I have problems with some unpackers not using the protection bit and some dont set the Read protection bit on subdirs so i have to do it manually. As i remember zip has this problem and tar for the Execute bit. |

I'll give it a try ASAP, thanks a lot for your efforts!
Now I wonder how difficult it would be to get FireFox working on this... |
