Do you need to ask that?
OS4 isn't able to handle burning due to not having DMA and ArticiaS has too low performance and is buggy. Also has too small userbase. These are the answers I got about two years ago. Of course nothing of this is correct anymore. Other than about the userbase..
But my opinion is that Titan don't want to support OS4 because they are hardcore MorphOS supporters. Which is fine by me. Everyone is free to to think and do what they like. If Titan gets economic support then maybe they could be convinced, but I doubt it. _________________ /Harry

| Yes and for the classic was said that its to slow hardware.
Then theres coders like Error that makes "Frying Pan" that shows a program that can be made to run on most amiga systems and also native versions even if the hardware is slow ;)
Burnit3 does looks nice and im happy for MOS users Last edited by Kicko on 12-Jun-2007 at 07:59 PM.

| That's funny, but how much efforts on programming is needed for a port of a program running on an OS based on MUI and AOS3.1, compiled with gcc to an other OS with the same things. They just don't want to do the porting. I don't think that there is a lot of work for it. Unless it uses techologies that the OS4 or OS3.x do not have!
How many years do they creating this program? Is there a demo to try it out? If not, don't throw your money. _________________ Amiga-Look.org - Beautify your Workbench

So how come Frying pan can burn dual layer DVDs on my A1 no problem. The A1 XE with DMA on the native IDE is more than capable of burning DVDs Frying pan is cheaper and easier to use than the Older MAKECD don't know about 3.0 since I don't have it yet

| @all I have used frying pan to burn DVD's on an A1200 060. Takes forever to make the directory structure on a large drag and drop but it works. BUTTTT you will either need an IDE accelerator board or use SCSI to IDE adapter on the burner as the native A1200 IDE is too slow to burn DVDs

That's cool that even a 14 year old A1200 can be upgraded to burn DVD's/ Last edited by DiscreetFX on 12-Jun-2007 at 10:44 PM. Last edited by DiscreetFX on 12-Jun-2007 at 10:43 PM.

I think no one subscribes to this black and white attitude anymore. Today, supporting a program for another weird platform is merely a question of time and resources: you either have them or not. If I were a MOS developer thinking of supporting OS4, I'd ask: will it be worthwhile? Will someone pay for my time? And if not, will there be enough user feedback to keep me motivated? So my guess is that if Titan contamplates OS4 at all, they are thinking along these lines. _________________ The Rear Window blog

I think this is beacuse of Titan's history with OS4 programs. Thay had previously stated that if they got 60 pre-orders for Papyrus Office, they would port it to OS4. They got the reuired response, but still no port. Then they said there was no available hardware, and they were told to contact Hyperion for access to Hardware, but they never contacted them. So I think OS4 people are just a little jaded with Titan.
Personally. it would be nice to have this on OS4 though. _________________ Peter Swallow. A1XEG3-800 [IBM 750FX PowerPC], running OS4.1FE, using ac97 onboard sound.
