Software News   Software News : Jabberwocky v1.8b7
   posted by VooDoo on 9-Feb-2009 18:28:24 (3663 reads)
New in this release:

* Added NFloattext.mcc to the reuirements listed in the Jabberwocky guide.
* Added alternative check for TextInput.mcc if vapor_toolkit.library is missing....
(Please click read more)

* Textinput.mcc crashes if checked by MUI without the vapor_toolkit.library installed and available.
* Added a check for the presence of NFloattext.mcc so Jabberwocky won't crash if it's missing.
* Updated OS4 makefiles and Jabberwocky include files to compile with new OS4 SDK (Now defaults to linking with newlib.library instead of clib2).
* Corrected the asynchronous command execution for OS4 to prevent unwanted closing of error output filehandle. (Doesn't apply to OS3 or MOS)
* Improved sourcecode by eliminating some unused variables, adding function prototypes, correcting some character declarations, making type casting corrections & added some missing default function return values.

Still crashes on exit here in AmiKit 1.5.5. The latest non-crashing version is 1.5.2.

Good news. I had problems with the last version with my AmigaOS 4.1. I hope with this new, not.

@AmiKit

Where do you have the problem? It works here on AmiKit 1.5.5

Run the program and as soon as the program window appears, don't do anything, just close the window. It always crashes here.

I startet AmiKit, I run Jabberwocky, window appears, I close Jabberwocky....I run again Jabberwocky, window appears, I close Jabberwocky....no matter how often I try, I don't get any crash. Can you create a log of this crash?

Hi,

I can't beleive that...

I have JabberWocky installed on my A1 since so long and never use it, tonight
I decide to give it a try and it was not working anymore so I went to the jabber.com
site (maybe not related to jabber?) to see that jabber was bought by Cisco etc...

Then I log on Amigaworld and an update is available!

Thank you very much... I'll try this for sure!

Bye!

Really?
Are you sure you are using the new 1.8 version? The older Jabberwocky 1.5.2 (which is included in default AmiKit installation) doesn't crash, of course.
I will create the log later. Thanks!

@AmiKit

Perhaps it's your WinUAE version.

It is great to have a new version. I'd like to ask how many developers are working on this project? What are the future plans of this project?

Bugs can only be fixed if they are reported.
I don't remember you reported it before on the Jabberwocky ML, did you ?

No, I did not. (Actually I don't use the program myself.)

Which server do you use? I tried jabber.org, but under the agents I see only the Chatrooms. Any server that has MSN, ICQ,Gmail, Yahoo support?

I use jabjab.de for ICQ, AIM, Yahoo and GaduGadu. They also have MSN but it seems to be broken.

Looks like two developers, 100% more than expected.

It works here. Press and hold the left mouse button, drag across the text you want to copy and release the mouse button. If you do a paste operation in another application like a text editor, the text you copied in the console window will appear. Copy a line of text from another program, click on a chat window to activate it and perform a RAmiga-V (paste) and the text appears in the Chat window input gadget. Also, pressing the up and down arrows will recall previously sent chat lines.
