| Yes, it's great. And if we could have a new version of ImageFX aswell that would also be very nice. _________________ Maintainer of www.bigbookofamigahardware.com

| How does this manual differ from that which came with my ImageFX4.5 studio package? Is it the same thing or something more in depth?
As to ImageFX4.5 itself an update with some of the niggles fixed would be very useful, not neccessarialy fully OS4 but at least a fraction more compatable. It's not bad but there are a few bits here and there, the odd GR which is 'ignorable', and the odd one that is fatal!
Having bought ImageFX4,5 I would happily pay a small upgrade fee, couldn't afford to pay from scratch at the moment though.... _________________ BroadBlues On Blues BroadBlues On Amiga Walker Broad

I did not know that ImageFX ran very good on OS4. So, you are saying that v4.5 runs, but with some GRs? I have an older version on my old A2000 060 which sits in the corner of this room draped in a sheet looking like a ghost. I wonder if that old version will run on my A1 with OS4.1.

95% of the time it's trouble free, there's an issue with text plugin, where you need to delete the contects of ENV:ImageFX after each usage (fatal if you don't) and theres a couple of GR's here and there, mostly ignorable.
It runs with the CGX Preview mode IIRC not sure about other modes. There a "light" version on os4depot _________________ BroadBlues On Blues BroadBlues On Amiga Walker Broad

| The latest Text hook was very crashy. I dug up one of my 3.x versions of IFX, believe 3.1, & tried the Text hook that came with that with no crashes or GRs. Now using hooks/sys/Text v3.1.302 dated 7/16/98. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid...

| I still have my Original 2.5 here (floppies and all ). Truly loved this program and would certainly BUY a full copy of 4.5 studio if it gets fixed for OS4.1 Update 1.
Come on Nova, just a tiny update!!! _________________ SamFlex Complete 800Mhz System + AmigaOS 4.1 Update 4 Amiga 2000 DKB 2MB ChipRam GVP G-Force040 Picasso 2 OS3.9 BB2 AmigaCD 32

| Guys guys...face it. I'm afraid this isn't Nova but simply me. While Nova closed up we still kept the products available and I decided to reissue the manual. Mainly because it bugged me that just after the manual went out of print, viable on-demand printing happened. Stupid technological advances!
However the original manual, while in 300dpi, was originally generated from Pagestream during the period where 12bit graphics were the norm on the Amiga so all the graphic screencaps were 16 levels of grey and a lot of dithering. Plus the original masters were lost (and the then-current PageStream would no longer load the old complex manual files) so the manual was rescanned. Some times poorly.
So I rescanned everything, cleaned up a lot of it, added the addendum into the manual, removed references to other out-of-business companies or non-existent products (then hoped I didn't miss on any of this) and set it up for printing via Lulu.com!
Voila!
I'm also proofing the final product in order for it to be available through other bookstores via Lulu.com's general distribution plan. Which is a nice bonus but I make more from the Lulu.com sales.
It's all fun and somewhat obsessive of me, so enjoy. |

| Besides...why update for OS 4.1? ImageFX 4.5 Studio is perfect...it's OS 4.1 that's got the bug.
Actually we provided the old text hook for use with OS 4.1 as I recall. Check in the modules/hooks directory.
Also - if anyone ever wants to port any module to OS 4.1 (or MorphOS, or AROS, etc...) - I've always been open to any serious interest from a serious programmer.

I wish for a "detail-preserving" noise-reduction filter to be added (maybe a revamped GUI?) and stability. Or maybe just hear that a minor development is underway, it would prompt me to buy the software "now" in anticipation.
What is the 4.1 bug anyway? Is it still present in the Update? _________________ SamFlex Complete 800Mhz System + AmigaOS 4.1 Update 4 Amiga 2000 DKB 2MB ChipRam GVP G-Force040 Picasso 2 OS3.9 BB2 AmigaCD 32
