Software News   Software News : Aros Broadway, Audio Evolution, Monthly Subscription
posted by phoenixkonsole on 29-Jun-2010 22:08:58 (2588 reads)
Aros Broadway 0.0.2R7 is out!
The online update follows, the full ISO is uploaded already!
http://www.aros-broadway.de

Video (needs Flash)

I wan't to show you this:
Audio Evolution

I preordered 6 copies and would like to give 5 away for the next "new" AresOne customers -> the boy is screaming to be a dedicated AROS Workstation : )

To all please consider to buy a license too! This is a great piece of Software and could lead to other bigger commercial apps for AROS!

Also please have a look at http://www.power2people.org
There is a monthly subscription option available! This money will be used to fund important but maybe less popular developments.

Best Regards and have fun with every piece you like of the big Amiga-family-cake!

Pascal P.

So, is AROS Broadway just an alternative to Icaros Desktop?

Short note: The YouTube video linked doesn't need Flash to be viewed. HTML5 Video just works fine...(if activated in your YouTube settings, of course...)

Well even if it wasn't flash their is a script to use a custom player inline...

No messing about with external apps!

@DBAlex
yes and no. I'm aiming more to those who are not aware of Amiga.... i'm adding things which are missing to make it a more user-friendly os:
User-switch / login-/Lockwindow will folow
More guides/help
and some other small tools
The Instatallation-process will be changed later, you will still be able to use it as live-cd but the focus is on getting the installation faster done and it will work more like the installer from apple.
Icons and Quickstarter will be changed to fit the overall look.
My target is a professional looking alternative to Windows and or Linux : )
Another reason that i startet is that i want to add only stable apps and only one app per kind -> to support those developemnt and improve overall stablity
Also i need to be flexible regarding updates of Ares-systems : ) (drivers and so on)

AROS also have drivers for the envy24 chip. Just like the ESI-Juli@ card.
If we can get Audio Eveolution on AROS it would mean a lot.
It for sure can be used for serious multi-track recordings.

Is Audio Evolution a serious competitor of, for example, REAPER?
I can´t try AE but how is about envelope automation, routing, midi and midi editor. audio performance and so on?
Last time I tried AE was years ago to any of the programs I usually work.
Perhaps the PC version is a little better but there are a few monsters in that area.
It´s a shame cos I would be happy with a good music tool in the Amiga world...Very happy.
