Great news ! It shows how Hyperion Entertainment listens to their customers and fan base of Amiga and is always willing to serve them all doing their best ! And it looks like AmigaOS 4.1 for Classic really gives new breath to Classic PPC machines.

* hooray *

waiting for some X1000, Sam460 status update

Since those hardware are being developed by companies other than Hyperion, I suspect Hyperion will want to leave it to those companies to reveal anything...

OTOH, I think & hope we will hear about progress of new features for AmigaOS4.x

Yes, the site is good. Only one minor thing... would be nice with some sort of date when each item was posted. :P

Otherwise, nice design and layout... and interesting content too

Actually, you can see that in the tab on the far left side. It might be though that the layout requires a wider screen/browser. I'll see what I can do about that.

Ah, at least. That may cut speculation on what's going on. Also, insight into any big project is very cool.

fantastic move. Great work.

I love the site, can double up as a tutorial for new features/users.

The classic version is looking quite polished.

All we need now is access to a powerful GPU for hardware accelerated 2D/3D and PCI/PCIe then add one of these lovely things :

Freescale P4080 processor module
Eight Power Architecture e500 cores at up to 1.5 GHz

http://www.xes-inc.com/products/view/xpedite5430/

maybe add a HD media processor chip

media processor

Oh just one more thing about blog :

any way to make links more meaningful than :

http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/?p=80

it would be nice if the articles have a legal disclaimer, for free use of information and images - in case a magazine wants to feature it or get included in a site/wikki.

AmigaOS 4.1 for Classic Amigas, equipped with Cyberstorm or Blizzard PPC accelerator boards
Support for Radeon PCI graphic cards - (assuming you have a Mediator or Prometheus PCI bridge)
Support for PCI SATA cards
Support for ZorRAM memory expansion cards (Zorro 3 only)
Support for additional memory via hard-disk paging from PCI SATA hard disks or Cyberstorm PPC SCSI disks
Support for Graphics Hardware Acceleration via the Radeon card - for Desktop Compositing (transparency) and Warp3D

Very interesting news.. about the additional memory, it only works with sata hard drive or also with normal ide hard drive?..

I am not 100% up to speed since most of the work on the Classic version was done by my brother, but AFAIR only the SATA driver has pager support. scsi.device certainly hasn't.
