| This Distro is as true to original AmigaOS version as possible. I hope some appriciate that as much as I do. I like the nostagic feel of some of the icons and the way windows open etc. If you like DOpus (to me best file management software ever made) I'm pretty sure you will appreciate my Dopus.config
The link to the Distro have change a little please use this one:
http://archives.aros-exec.org/share/development/misc/aspireos-i386-june2011.tar.gz
There will come screenshots and videos pretty soon, to show off AspireOS and ACER aspire one.
Also look at my homepage for more info:

| Thanks guys :)
I'm more possitive to AROS than ever. I hope more people will buy an ACER aspire one 110 or 150 to try my distro. I'm sure they will not be dissapointed. Think about Amiga like OS on a netbook with wi-fi connection. I writing this from my bed right now :D |

| I bought an Aspire 150 a good year ago to try the distro but still haven't gotten around to it. I hope to someday! _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1

| My good old friend Jahc :D
I'm for sure an entusiast. I love all the good stuff happening in Amigaworld.
I'm waiting for Commodore USA to sell a Keyboard with Commodore keys ;)
I also like the vic-slim but no digital out ? Who like to use VGA these days. That I think is a misstake from them.
Also good news about the X-1000, even if that box will be way to expensive for me. Last edited by nikosidis on 09-Jun-2011 at 10:21 PM.

| I suggest you to change the name...
Calling it ASPIRE-OS, just as it was something from the ASPIRE firm itself (without any explicit permission from Aspire people), then could ends in being sued by Aspire..
Slight different names will avoid you any legal problems..
Maybe "Aspire AROS" will avoid any legal problem, as it points it is an AROS version for Aspire computers. Last edited by Raffaele on 10-Jun-2011 at 03:49 PM. Last edited by Raffaele on 10-Jun-2011 at 03:47 PM.

| Not affraid of that, Aspire is not exactly a copyrighted name. It is a word. On top of that I'm just helping ACER to sell hardware without getting a penny from the sales ;)
They will probably never hear of AspireOS or AROS anyway ;)
Even if they got into disslikeing me to use the name AspireOS for some strange reason, AROS would finaly make some blast. Good advertising :P Last edited by nikosidis on 10-Jun-2011 at 05:10 PM.

| I was not calling of copyrights.
Copyrights apply to books or movies or anything else of intellectual properties.
I was (and still actually) talking of a TRADEMARK name of a computer, and I think that Acer had registered its computer model as a trademark.
I hope that you are right and that "Aspire" as a common name is not copyrighted by Acer to avoid people to use it.
AspireOS is IMHO a good name, if none could claim it belongs to his properties before you named your OS. Last edited by Raffaele on 12-Jun-2011 at 07:05 PM.
