| You can do 2 tricks for performance: 1. Edit the Pi config file to make the CPU running at higher clock (this one was 700MHZ) 2. Lower the resolution. 800x600 gives classic feeling and runs 4times better ; )
EDIT: Deadwood fixed the bug. So with next release you can access USB-sticks and Host-filesystem from AROS. I would call it than 1.0
EDIT2: I have also reduced the Framebuffer Memory to have more RAM available on 256MB Pi's. If you have one with 512 you could change the VRAM size via config file too. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 24-Nov-2013 at 11:09 AM. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 24-Nov-2013 at 10:35 AM.

| So this is too slow for full screen games ?
I was trying to judge the speed of game in the DOS mode but you just showed simple animation sequence.
Any benchmarks and fps for games at different resolutions would be more informative for a user.
AROSOID platforms seem to lack showing benchmarks for some reason.
good work though. _________________ Download 499.26 Mbps, 659.94 Mbps Upload :)

| There are a few bugs left, else Quake and Doom(both AROS) would work. In software rendering you can expect somewhat of between Pentium 166 and 200MHZ performance.
If you use GPU, which needs special compiled Games (Quake3 is available, some stuff from Pandora handheld does work too) it is quite nice. Normal stuff installed by Synaptic which asks for X11 only will run like a snug.
Next version will come with omxplayer, so you can run HD videos using the GPU.
The whole thing will learn to fly if Xwayland is ready and if AROS hosted will just work with that compatibility layer. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 24-Nov-2013 at 04:34 PM. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 24-Nov-2013 at 04:33 PM.

Thanks I will look forward to the next update.
As I am hoping I should then be able to use the Host-filesystem mounting to access the same files from both sides of the system and setup need tricks like taking pictures and recording video using my Raspberry Pi's camera module from a click on a button in DOPUS4 under AROS then open the resulting files by double clicking on them from the DOPUS4.
For bonus points I may even be able send the video's to omxplayer player under AROS giving me hi-def video recording and playback from AROS on my Raspberry Pi.
The Raspberry Pi may not be the fastest computer in the world but for native AROS apps it should be faster than even my BlizzardPPC/060 and should be good for some quite interesting projects. But for playing Amiga games I think I will stick with my Minimig or WinUAE, on the other hand I expect both DOOM and Quake to be quite playable under AROS on the Raspberry Pi even if it is only as fast as a high end Pentium or low end Pentium II. _________________ Sam440ep 667mhz, 512MB, 120GB 2.5" HD, OS4.1FE WinUae 3.0.0, OS 3.9, BB3, Catweasel MkIV Amiga 1200, Blizzard 040/40 (BlizzardPPC 060/200 with SCSI removed at present), mediatorSX pci, Voodoo3, PCI network card os 3.9BB2 4MB Minimig with ARM addon boar

| Well done! It`s a bit spartan though and a bunch of programs included like in Icaros Desktop would be better. Looking forward for a more polished version (personal opinion)! _________________ Ordell Robbie: Is she dead, yes or no? Louis: Pretty much.
