| You didn't report that this utility could damage the files on your hd, so the suggestion is to activate it just before performing an activity for which the L2 cache would be useful (i.e. watching a film) then reset your system |

| The news is taken from ACube's website. Anyone using this utility should make sure they read the included readme file first. _________________ gtmooya's blog

| This is a perfect example of something that should be built into the OS. The HAL and chipset drivers for the SAM460's SOC should have the knowledge built in of exactly when it's safe to turn on the level 2 cache, and turn it on and off transparently. Then users can get the best performance without worrying about accidentally trashing their data. It's great that this utility exists, but I hope it's meant to be just a temporary measure until the next set of OS4 patches. |

I heard from other users it is not matter of the OS.
AMCC PPC CPU cache L2 is bugged at circuit level so it could corrupt data read/write once enabled
I hope that what I heard was wrong info and it is only a matter of software issues. Last edited by Raffaele on 15-Dec-2014 at 07:35 AM.

| This is great news for SAM board owners. Disabling caches on classic Amigas or the trusty PC has a profound effect on performance so I would guess the difference will be noticeable. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1
