Why? Is quiet amusing, isn't it?

Yes the pieces of the puzzle are coming together.

I'm looking forward for the next statements by Bill Buck. That'll be fun... Tell ya what: Maybe we should have "Ask Bill Buck" instead of Ask Fleecy...

Well, it use to be, but now it's tireing.

I'm glad to see Amiga at least make a statement... Bill McEwen, even. I'm sure things are not as others would have you believe. We've seen this game once too many times now... Remember the boy who cried "wolf"? After awhile, nobody believed him anymore.

Yes, in a way I'm hoping that, too (regarding BB) But I'm afraid that even when BB cries 1000 times 'wolf' there is gonna be some people out there calling us non-believers... ehmm.... name/blind followers... whatever...

However, ATM I'm trying to take that with humor.

Wasn't the boy there to protect the sheep? He should have been doing his job instead of playing around making wolf games!

"It has come to our attention that Mr. Bill Buck has made several statements about the on-going litigation between our firms. He has stated that he has won the case, and the we have agreed to port AmigaDE to Pegasos, as well as making certain claims that he has rights to our logos and trademarks."

I've never seen statements from Bill Buck stating those things.. where did he say this?

heck take it from the horses mouth, although there are a couple of posts form other genesi representatives these should give you a good indication:

Dave, we have someone working on the port now. They have DE and they have a
Pegasos. We will shortly have all the sources and all the documentation
associated with DE to further our efforts.

Our use of the tradmarks is valid.

As for Intent, we would be very happy to be working with Francis Charig and
Tao, but that is a completely different matter.

Best regards,
R&B

P.S. To avoid any further confusion, the legal process has been settled in
our favor.

Can we move on now?

Hmm good to see their position on the matter. However the EULA part should have been left out. It's not like AOS hasn't been run on x86 machines and others using UAE for a very long time. And EULA's are pratically toothless in some countries.

For those who believe these new words from the sainted board, I'd like to know:

1) Are you saying there was no meeting between Genesi and Amiga Inc legal representation this week??

2) Are you saying that the case is still ongoing between Genesi & Amiga Inc??

3) Do you actually believe the EULA comments made despite the easily verifiable fact that at very least the Draco and Amiga Forever had a license for the OS???

Amiga Forever (UAE + OS & ROMs) is not a Amiga machine in the physical sense, but Amiga Forever is a licensed "machine", Cloanto have a license to sell OS3.1 and ROMs (Amiga Forever).

Not sure if the people behind Amithlon had the same license arrangement.

Seems pretty obvious to me that the real target of the EULA comment is Morph OS though.

@Tigger:

1. Neither confirming or denying.

2. Yes.

3. Bill McEwen was refering to the EULA of the AmigaOS distributions made for running on classic Amiga hardware only, not other EULA's such as the ones that comes with Amiga Forever or the Draco. This should be pretty obvious.

Yeah, there's tons or these and similar posts in the ANN and Amiga.org archives. Genesi have been spreading lies and rumours for ages now to try and undermine Amiga inc. and pinch Amiga OS users .
