The Untold Tale Of A Computer Giant

There have been rumours about how Commodore - once a billion-dollar company at the cutting edge of computing technology - could go bankrupt.

In this book David Pleasance, former MD of Commodore UK gathers his personal stories and experiences from over twelve years at the company, along with viewpoints from other senior management and engineering employees, suppliers and fans of this former giant of home computing, to expose the naked truth.

This is the book that bares it all...

Yeah, would have been nice if the Kickstart backers had gotten theirs first.

Two days later and the second link is still to a "just been registered" website.

@Trixie

The first link works fine, I agree, but the second link, labeled "Direct product link"? Have you tried that one?

Yes it works fine, too. Strange it doesn't work for you.

@Trixie,
Actually it seems that the two links are identical,
and they doesnt work for me either.
Maybe it's a DNS problem

Any word on if this book will be available through resellers in North America?

Quite a few mentioned that they would be carrying it but I haven't found one yet.

@Trixie

I'm using Safari on MacOS. If I command-click the second link, it doesn't work. So I try copying and pasting the second link, and it does.

I reckon someone fixed either the original post or the website, but the dunderheads at Apple programmed Safari to use a cached version without checking if a new one is available. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened to me.

Thanks.

@ne_one

We ship many packages across the States And Canada every week. We have a specialist FedEx service for this book so it is probable that our shipping rates would be better than most. We plan to show the book at Amiwest in a few weeks time when we attend.

Just received it. Absolutely brilliant. A superb book and in many ways completes the Amiga story.

The last update I saw stated that backers would have to wait until David got back from a business trip (around Oct 13th IIRC), before packages would start going out to Royal Mail - as although they were ready to be sent, there hadn't been time to do that before the trip.

So it seems we have to wait a bit longer before they ship to backers. Gets a little frustrating sometimes when non-backers are able to receive theirs before kickstarter backers, but that happens sometimes.
