@Toaks

Yes, it got out to all customers who bought either a fully equipped system or just the bare bone motherboard. It is very nice to see such a response to this, not what I expected.

Cheers guys!

Why do people persist on calling it >SIL< 0680?! "SI" stands for Silicon Image, which is the manufacturer of the controller. Where do you get the L from? It should be SI0680 or perhaps "Sil. 0680" where "Sil." would be short for "Silicon", but not SIL.

The product name is Sil 0680. I've also seen the names "SI0680" as well as "SIL680" and "SIL0680" in Google.

@ssolie

No it isn't, it's SiI, not SiL. I would guess "Silicon Image Ide". Or simply "SIlicon Image", but who cares...

Actually, if you look at what ssolie links to there, you'll see that it is sii and not sil, although he mentions that later. Doesn't matter much anyway, whatever floats your boat I guess ;)

Thanks for all the praise, everyone. It's nice to get some feedback when you do something nice and it does good for the morale. Again, thank you!

Had to buy mine from gurumeditation (~40EUR including an extra UDMA cable). I guess that's the price for buying my A1 from GGSData ;)

@Orgin

No blame on Gunne.
I recon he does his best.
And provides good service as well.

Who would have thought about this ide-problem appearing after 2 years... not me anyway

But of course, Gurumeditation has got tons of goodwill by providing the free controllers

@FuZion

I've just purchased one of these:
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.asp?sku=110632&cks=PRL

If it's the right card I'll buy another, I actually want it for my other computer which has an even worse IDE controller than the AmigaOne

I got one of these from Clas Ohlson (32-6849), mainly because it was the only compatible one I could find here, and I didn't want to use mailorder as the postage would be rather expensive...

@Deniil715
> Why do people persist on calling it >SIL< 0680?!

I saw a post somewhere saying it was an honest misreading from the chip that the capital 'i' looke the same as a lower-case 'L'. Of the two characters 'I' and 'l', which is the upper-case 'i' and which is the lower-case 'L'?? I typed one of each there, and I already forget which is which... My chip has "SiI0680Asomethingsomething" written on it, and you really think it's a lower-case 'L' if you don't think about it. Call it short for "SILicon image" if you like. ;) Is it really that important?
