Seems to me that we have very creative, ethical and honourable man at the helm. I'm impressed - I think from this that things are looking up!

Good luck Mr Hare - and yes, if I'd be more than willing to trade in my T- Shirt for a "semi-collectable fake business card"

And more is the point - Im so glad that the Friedens - Hyperions, and Alans hard work has not gone to waste - and that they will get to see the fruits of their labour.

He seems a down-to-earth bloke who is going to try and get things done.

I wish him all the best.

I finished reading that interview with a big grin on my face. Garry seems like just the kind of person we need to get things back on track

Mr. Hare certainly seems the kind of guy to sort things out!
Thanks to Garry and AW for the very interesting interview...

Excellent Job!

Well done Amigaworld!

Good luck to Garry Hare and KMOS.

I am relieved because I would have owed some guy on ann.lu a crate of beer if the business card had been genuine!

Now where were those budweisers!

I like his candour, as well as his ability to distance himself from making too many promises, showing himself to be an economist of good calibre. I wish the newcomers to the team the best of luck!

BTW, thanks to DaveyD for proposing this interview in the first place.

An interesting and constructive first public appearance, and delivered with a fair show of wit and humour.

Of course, whenever someone answers a question, it inevitably means more questions will follow, and a couple come to mind ....

/me slaps himself with a wet kipper and tells himself to shut up

Let's hope this is the birth of a brave new world. Good luck to all involved

Oh - and Garry -

Probably the best item I've read on this site in a long time, if ever

Gary sounds like just the right person for this job, and it's great to get the business cards, CAM silence and other issues explained.

And most importantly, of course, it sounds like he's got a GSOH.

It was a v. interesting read and made me LOL a couple of times too.

So then, anyone know when OS4's gonna be released? ;-)

Well, after the last year or so my plans recently changed from buying an a1 then a peg, to the other way around (I'm a developer don't ya know ), although this doesn't change the order I'm now doing things (my code is largely mos ready now, so just needs the os to compile it on), I'm holding back the funds to buy an a1 as soon as aos4 is out, instead of holding to the "wait and see" idea, and saving up after it's released.

I think Garry (for some reason that reminds me of Harry Harrison's "Bil the Galactic Hero" books, where only officers get two l's ) has shown that for the first time in 14 or so years we've actually got someone at the helm who knows what they need to do to make Amiga into a brandname worth putting on your business card again - "Amiga User" has a nice ring to it (now to find a decent boing image ;-P )

Thanks for a very nice reply to a whole load of questions there, my only suggestion is adding a quick overview (cv style) for those of us too lazy to do the research, there's quite a bit about where you were and what you did, but spread out over the whole thing.

And lets just hope your worst-case scenario is as realistic as the reviews for Mel Gibson's latest film... even if that's one I put in the same catagory as Titanic and vow to never watch

Robin

I good read, which made me laugh a few times.

Also some very interesting bits of information on whats been going on in the last few years that we didnt know about.

I might also give up my t-shirt for one of those business cards.

I think you DO owe that crate of beer, since the card is genuine...

Nice interview. Thanks Dave and Garry. Also, when this happens:

...you know that you've got a good product. Let's hope the above extends far beyond KMOS.

Well it's not quite clearcut - the guy I was arguing with on ann.lu was quoting bbrv that Garry Hare was strolling around handing out cards and giving the impression he was the CEO of Amiga Inc. We know now that bbrv knew this not to be true.

However I will try and dig up the thread to see what I actually said!

A good interview. Garry comes across well, I think.
