| I have to say that KMOS has an easy job; a product, AmigaOS 4, is almost ready to roll out the door. They won't ever have to estimate release dates that are missed by years. They can only look good. Amiga, Inc. held the fort all these years as development took longer and longer. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++

| Good questions and interesting indeed
The bit about using forum posts in court was a bit scary, everything you write can be used against you etc. But that's Internet I guess _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff!

| Mr. Hare came across as a very professional and witty guy. I'm impressed, I really am. This iteis likely the best I've read in the Amiga world in a long time. The lack of obvious fluff (and the lack of smileys! What a relief!) made this a rare treat. Some items on how they went through all Bill Buck's online statements were hilarious (if somewhat mind-boggling and disconcerting). I remember GregS suggesting Amiga was just keeping quiet to amass a real blow. Well, whatd'ya know.
Although I already have the hardware and is a pretty safe customer for Amiga-related stuff, I'm also a realist (albeit apparently a slightly romantic realist still using a 13 years old computer ...) And things have been looking bleak lately. Very bleak. Mr. Hares attitude might actually be just the ticket. I wish KMOS (it really is a horrible name!) good luck. At least based on this item, they seem to be better off than most in this small computer world. ... And welcome to our bizarre community, mister Hare! . SlimJim |

| He couldn't have come across any better. I loved the business card story.
As far as I am concerned this clears everything up. I don't think Genesi could have shot themselves in the foot any better in this one. A very interesting read and I look forward to the future.
Thank you for your time Gary - I wish you all the best.
No wonder Hyperion and Eyetech don't seem to be worried. This sort of honest and intelligent communication is a real confidence builder for everyone concerned. _________________ Sam

It would be genuine if Garry Hare was really Amiga inc. 's CEO, so it's still a fake card.... |

| That was a very good interview, clear answers, clearly quite competent too.
Looks like KMOS has got a customer too for the AmigaOS / AmigaOne solution at the moment - presumably this is why the MicroA1's have been made. Can't wait to find out what it is.
Now to see what the other crowd have made of it all on ANN ... how much denial, etc! Could be quite funny, must remember to not get involved. |

| What a man.
Bringing everything to the point without leaving room for interpretation and even has my kind of humour. Not seen much in this community. Certainly stands out in relief against the written output of other CEO's on other web forums. Moo.
Not that I was particulalry concerned about AmigaOS. But now I can safely say that I like the DE also.
Now to work, we have a platform to re-launch, Mr. Hare, but get some sleep before. I hope you will not forget the casual little desktop user that only wants to use as his main operating system what he has (with interrupts) used for now 15 years, 3 months, and with whom you cannot do large businesses with.
Somehow I believe you won't. Thank you so far.
Ciao, Alex,
whos AmigaOne is working w/ Mai through next April and waiting for AmigaOS4.
ps: Thank you DaveyD, Mike and everyone at AmigaWorld.net for contributing this. You're well worth your website title. _________________ machine : AmigaOne G3SE / AmigaOne XE / Teron CX / Teron PX clock : 800 MHz cpu : 7455, alt

| An interesting read.
One trivial correction for Mr. Hare..
The name Edsel did mean something. Edsel cars were named for Edsel Ford who was the son of Henry Ford, and at one time, President of The Ford Motor Company. http://www.edsel.com/pages/edslford.htm
A better example of company names that didn't mean anything would be Kodak.
"It was in 1888 that the word "Kodak" was first registered as a trademark?. ?But the plain truth is that Eastman invented it out of thin air."
Quotes from the Kodak site mentioned below indicate that he (George Eastman) explained that : "I devised the name myself. The letter "K" had been a favorite with me - it seems a strong, incisive sort of letter. It became a question of trying out a great number of combinations of letters that made words starting and ending with 'K.' The word 'Kodak' is the result."
The remainder of this article, plus additional quotes & information that relate to this subject can be found at the following web site...
http://www.kodak.com/US/en/corp/aboutKodak/kodakHistory/eastman.shtml"

| Brilliant.
Fantastic read. And Kudos to GregS and, of course, to DaveyD for setting up this interview.
So here it is .....
Mr Hare, You are .........

( Not that you need my approval though)
Way to go.
btw ... Any clues as to the identities of .. "Interesting" or "Seek the Truth" ? _________________ ****************************************** I dont suffer from Insanity - I enjoy it

You really believe this? Take a look over at Ann.lu and see how they "interpret" this interview (makes me wonder if anyone speaks/understands english on the internet)!

| Firstly, thanks to the AW team for a great interview!
Secondly, I share the opinion that Mr. Hare seems to be a nice and competent person, and probably exactly what the platform needs right now. Not just a "suit" who has bought a "box of stuff", nor an overly "excited" Amiga fan, but rather someone who has a realistic approach and an ambition to make the platform a success. I was positively surprised that he is considering honouring the coupons, I would not have expected that . I was also most pleased by the dirt which was revealed on Buck. Not that any of it came as a great surprise to me, Buck's insincerity is obvious to anyone willing to see it, but it is nice to get it confirmed from a reliable source.
It looks promising, but then again, so did the other buyouts, so I'll save the deification until I see some positive results. Genesi going down in flames, the Amiga userbase expanding, or maybe my coupon money, would all do nicely.
Now, I think I'll pop over to ANN and watch the fireworks for a while.
