| Events posted by RobertB on 10-Nov-2015 6:44:48 (1529 reads) |
Happy almost-Thanksgiving, C= and Ami comrades! The next meeting of the Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network is Saturday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 4+ p.m. at
Panera Bread Restaurant 19662 Nordhoff Street Northridge, California (818) 407-9400
Discussion will center around the Amiwest Show held a few weeks ago and next year's Commodore Vegas Expo (never too early to talk about CommVEx!). If Mario can bring in his A1000 system, I'll bring the rest -- the Amiga 1200, the SX-64, the VIC-20, and the Plus/4, plus accompanying software.
For your software perusal, we'll have the entire Amiga disk library of hacker Jason Forster -- hundreds and hundreds of disks filled with intros, demos, original games created by him or his friends, cracked games, etc..
Bring anything else you wish to share!
Who wants to archive them into .adf's? ;) Robert Bernardo http://www.sccaners.org

Happy November, C= and Ami aficionados! The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 2+ p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15 at --
Bobby Salazar's Mexican Restaurant 2839 North Blackstone Ave. (corner of Blackstone and Michigan) Fresno, California (559) 227-1686
This month FCUG celebrates its 34th anniversary with software, software, and software! For the VIC-20, we look at the games, Pulse, Popeye, Demons of Dex, and Break-out. For the C64, we look at the preview of the adventure, Athanor: The Awakening. For the Plus/4, we'll try out one game, Dork Dave and the Dirty Trick, and another game, Mr. Angry Dude. For the C128, it's the simulation, Monty Hall, and the alpha version of SAM 128 (Software Activated Mouth). For the classic Amiga, we'll take a peek at the massive disk collection from Jason Forster.
Since I will be visiting C= technician Ray Carlsen later in the month, you are invited to bring along any C= hardware that you need Ray to repair. I already have my list of C= items for him.
Truly, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group http://www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

Introducing Tabor and the A1222 |
| hardware OS4 posted by amigakit on 1-Nov-2015 22:01:15 (22518 reads) |
Introducing Tabor and the A1222 A powerful, low cost, entry level PowerPC motherboard San Francisco 19th October 2015
A-EON Technology Ltd is pleased to announce that Tabor, a new powerful, low cost, entry level PowerPC motherboard, which forms part of our A1200 series, is about to undergo beta testing.
As part of our drive to create more powerful lower cost, entry level hardware and expand the Next-Generation user base we commissioned Ultra Varisys to create a new PowerPC motherboard. The result is Tabor, a 170 mm x 170 mm mother-board based on a Freescale QorIQ P1022 32-bit e500v2 dual-core PowerPC processor running at 1.2 GHz. Prototypes have already been shipped to key developers and members of A-EON Technology’s Core Linux support team and, as a result, several Linux distributions are already up and running on the Tabor board. Working in cooperation with ACube srl, a beta test programme is about to commence, which is already over-subscribed.
The full system is designated the AmigaOne A1222.
