Amigaworld.net News   Changes to the AmigaWorld.NET IRC Network
Amigaworld.net News posted by sibbi on 26-Apr-2012 17:47:51 (2818 reads)
Hello everybody,

Due to a server crash on one of the AmigaWorld.NET IRC servers we've been without channel services such as NickServ and ChanServ for a good while now.

Attempts have been made to retrieve the old database but they have so far been unsuccessful and we've decided to move ahead with a new and fresh nick and channel database, instead of waiting any longer.

Unfortunately this means that even if you have previously registered your IRC nick or channel, you'll have to do so again.

At the moment both the old and the new network are running in parallel. To visit the new network, you need to go to port 5555 on irc.amigaworld.net, while the old network is still listening on the default (6667) port.

I'd like to ask everyone that has a registered nickname to go to irc.amigaworld.net port 5555 and register with NickServ there, and any channels with ChanServ. Be aware that to add users to ChanServ they need to be already registered with NickServ.

On May 1st, I will change the default port to go to the new network, and we'll migrate over there, and turn off the old network.

We will try to keep downtime off the IRC services to a minimum during these changes, we appreciate your patience.

EDIT: The change has been performed on the AmigaWorld.NET main server and the SE server, I'm waiting for the change on the NO (Polarboing) server, hopefully that will happen soon, until then, use NO.AmigaWorld.net port 5555 or SE/DE.amigaworld.net port 6667

Kind regards,
Sibbi

'The Ur-Quan Masters' is a volunteer project that intends to bring the classic game 'Star Control II' to modern systems. The program code that comprises 'The Ur-Quan Masters' was derived from code written by Toys for Bob, Inc. for the 3DO version of 'Star Control II', with their permission and encouragement.

OnyxSoft has recently released a new version of Jahc's MSN chat client SabreMSN with the following changes:

- Fixed a number of memory leaks, especially one continuous leak.
- Added a status icon for oneself to make it easier to see what status I have.
- Made a setting to use or not the status icons for those who think they are
ugly.
- Improved the auto-Idle timeout such that it only sets you idle if you are

Software News   APC&TCP: DigiBoosterPro - DigiRoller 1.1 released
Software News posted by AndreasM on 19-Apr-2012 16:52:08 (2700 reads)
DigiRoller is a standalone replayer for DigiBooster Pro 2.x and DigiBooster 3 music modules. Version 1.1 contains the latest replayer engine featuring AHI-independent DSP echo effect. It is backward compatible with old echo ("V", "W", "X", "Y" and "Z" commands are fully supported), but the effect is processed inside the engine, so it is always active. Echo in AHI may be safely turned off. Additional feature of the new echo (which will be used in DigiBooster 3) is a new echo mode (command "V2"), where each track can have independent echo parameters.
