After discussing with the moderating and administration team and reading through user comments about moderation and looking at the list of moderation incidents we have come to the conclusion that a few additions are needed to the terms of service to make things clearer for users and moderating staff alike.

We have also invited wegster to join the staff moderation team to help us maintain a fair and balanced forum.

Hardware News   Terratec Phase28 supported

The semi-professional sound card Phase28 from Terratec is now supported on OS4 by an AHI driver made by Davy Wentzler. The card has 2 inputs, 8 outputs, digital in/out and MIDI in/out (see here for more info).

In the AHI driver, everything is supported including MIDI and digital in and out, except using more than 2 analogue outputs. 4 outputs have been tested on a preliminary eXtream driver, however.

FLDev is an IDE designed for small C/C++ Applications and is based on the Editor described in the FLTK Manual.

Software News   AmiPodder: Amiga Podcast Receiver Public Beta

I've just released the first public beta of my Amiga podcast receiver called AmiPodder.

If you've not heard of it before, podcasting is a way of distributing audio programmes (usually in MP3 format) with minimal infrastructure. Using a client like AmiPodder you can subscribe to a podcast feed and then receive each programme as it is published.

A PDF of Total Amiga issue 16, which sold out a month or two ago, is now available for free download from the Total Amiga web site.

This issue includes reviews of the ALGOR USB card, Hollywood 1.5, Perfect Paint and AmiAtlas 6. There is also the first part of our on-going C tutorial and a tutorial on enhancing digital images.

If you don't own this issue or would like to get a feel for a recent issue of Total Amiga, why not download a copy!
