I agree with AmigaPapst Of course your AmiStarter looks very nice

I myself prefer the ease-of-use AmiDock, because i like the Amiga/Mac-way
of accessing programs and files. I think when people love the way of Windows,
especially its' StartMeny, then i understand some of the AmigaOS 4 users
wanting their WB to use AmiStarter instead...

But i love AmiDock and i'm using it. AmiDock is also improving the whole time.
Perhaps there will be even more features in AmiDock when the final OS4 is out?

Anyway, i like your shot here. I really do Keep it up

@AmigaPapst
I agree. It looks fine, but IMHO is more suited for a Wintel machine... I like AmiDock because is really Amiga not "Wintel-Copy".

Very nice screen, but you should use AmiDock.

AmiStart looks really nice. Think I gonna try it

AmiDock is also very nice. IMHO both can be used at the same time So no need to fight. Maybe AmiStart even pre-dates AmiDock...

Yes, use Amidock so it doesn't look too much like Windoze

Too Microsoft looking, but nice to know you can have a start bar if you want too.

I like the Amiga Docky although I think it needs a bit of work in 3 areas.

1. Its a bit of a pain when something invades the desktop and your Docky ends up in the middle of the screen ( Don't know how many of you have experienced this bug). Once this happens its a bit hard to simply drag it back to where you want it especialy if it was originaly in the centre at the bottom of the screen.

2. Its nice that it can be transparent but when things move behind the docky and are then removed those items do not imediately disapear unlike the nice (optional) transparent Workbench menus.

3. He he, while typing this I forgot what the 3rd issue was oh well must not have been too bad.

Well despite that its still a good thing, I use it and enjoy using it.
Though it doesn't realy compete with the Dock in Mac OS X that being a good dock with the awesome 3d animated icons.

So maybe some further work could be done on the OS4 docky to make it spot on.

I use both, Amistart and AmiDock. Did you know that AmiStart shows thumbnails of pics in the menu itself? This makes very easy to find one. And the thumbnail offers several progs to display the pic in full size. Really useful.

Saluditos,

Ferrán.
