| Cool! Great to see new AmigaOS software.. especially in this area as we are lacking file sharing programs..
Just a few constructive comments - it needs some documentation to explain how to use it.. where do we get server ip's from? my google search hasnt produced anything yet.. 2. needs an installer script. and 3. theres a few enforcer hits.. apart from that this looks quite cool. Nice and small too.
-Edit- forget what I said about the enforcer hits.. I think it was just shashimi (sp) showing serial port debug info..? |

| The screenshots in the homepage are a bit -ehm- distractive. On "Premiere pas avec Bourriquet" (link on the left menu) there are a couple of different screenshots.
This is the only piece of software I lacked, now I can abandon Linux and return with my Amiga 24h a day!

You need a server.met file in the main Bourriquet directory.
It's explained here: http://www.rusback.org/dev_premiers_pas.html At the end of the page there are also a bunch of links where you can find the file you need. _________________ [url=http://www.abundantsoft.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=38&pagenumber=1&sortfield=la

| The server.met file is recognised and displays a list of servers, but I get a long list of errors in a console window when I try to connect. Anyone else having any luck? |

| @ikir: It is more eDonkey than Overnet. Overnet is a Serverless Network with an eDonkey-Gateway. _________________

| @ikir: Well, let's say that if eDonkey2000 initiated the eDonkey network, eMule is the client that's dominating it. :) And by far the best one available. _________________ [url=http://www.abundantsoft.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=38&pagenumber=1&sortfield=la

Haven't tried it yet. I'll look at it this evening and let you know.
What kind of connection errors it gives? _________________ [url=http://www.abundantsoft.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=38&pagenumber=1&sortfield=la

| Well, it's a nice looking application, but you have to question the choice of content in the search windows. It shows Amiga Roms and Amiga Forever Serial #'s.... Not a good thing to be advertising. And the other window has a number of things with "sex" and even more explicit words. Couldn't he have just done a simple search for a sound byte or something before doing the screen grabs? |

I don't agree, the official eDonkey has access to the overnet network too and starts downloading faster.
In addition to that eMule does dirty things accessing servers, saturates the network, etc (after all the protocol is not public and they have done it reverse engineering eDonkey). _________________ The only spanish amiga news web page/club: CUAZ

| I've tried it but I get the following error:
SocketBaseTagList() return code: 0. h_errno = 2 SocketBaseTagList() return code: 0. h_errno string = Host name lookup failure
I've tried looking up docs but it's all in French at the mo. I got the client working (after I ran SnoopDos and found it needed icon.mcc) and it is actually in English - just need to find a way to get servers working.

AFAIK eMule is the most used eDonkey client and the standard de facto for what concern the edonkey network (whose protocol has been extended way beyond its closed source origins).
In fact, these are the clients seen in the last hours by my mldonkey: eDonkey : 1581 (15%) Overnet : 0 (0%) eMule : 8639 (80%) mldonkey : 118 (1%) lMule : 18 (0%) shareaza : 398 (4%)
So obviously I don't agree with you. _________________ [url=http://www.abundantsoft.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=38&pagenumber=1&sortfield=la
