It's good to see modern things like Twitter suported on OS4 but so far I'm not into the twiting scene as I don't want to look like an idiot!

Sadly Twitter is still not supported on OS 4. This is an OS3 and MorphOS app. Still needing my macbook by my Amiga all day for twitter at moment.

Either we need a port of glib to OS4, or (preferably) the minimal amount of glib calls in AmiTwitter need to be removed.

glib is only being used for lists, I have said a number of times how crazy this is when AmigaOS has a perfectly good list implementation, but it falls on deaf ears.

It should be pretty trivial to change, unless glib is being used for more now than it was when I last looked.

with owb-morphos you can use twitter 100%. with owb-os4 cant you do that? hows that?

For the heck of it - I'm personally no twitter user - I had a look at the source, rewrote parts of it to get rid of glib and to make it a bit more robust.. so I have a basically working AmiTwitter OS4 version here..

There are still quite some issues to resolve.. but as I don't have any use for it myself, I'm not eager to spend more time on it ... but seeing that there was even a bounty for an OS4 version suggested recently (over at amigabounty.net), maybe some of you want to motivate me with a small donation (not necessarily via ab.net.. directly would suffice too )? With enough motivation, I would be willing to finish and iron the port as well as send my changes back to the source forge project ..

Did you check the README.txt of the original archive and the listed requirements? "Cannot create application" usually occurrs if one of the needed MUI classes is missing. Unfortunately such useless error messages seem to be quite common for MUI application and missing class dependencies..

You must have installed:

- URLtext.mcc
- BetterString.mcc
- HTMLtext.mcc
- TheBar.mcc

Also:
- latest codesets.library
- openurl.library (i think this is at least optional)

All needed classes are listed under "requirements" ... though, maybe you got confused by the fact that they are only listed for OS3/MOS and that for OS4 the "requirements are unknown" .. well, I'll adapt my own readme a bit..
