Q. Can you redesign the Amy’05 motherboard so it can work with the Amiga Fantasy case? No need, we have been providing information to Fantasy people on how to make the case work with an Amy'05 inside |

The UDTech web pages mention that their graphics card goes only up to 1024x768. Are you planning on either getting a more powerful graphics chip, or making whatever modifications are needed to be able to plug generic PCI/PCIe/AGP cards? |

I noticed that too. But if you are using the YPbPr outputs for HDTV displays, it has to support a 16:9 ratio rather than (or in addition to) the 4:3 used by 1024 X 768. I'm sure all of the XGI chipsets are capable of going higher than that. I suspect that the 1024 resolution mentioned there is specific to use in settop box environments or kiosk type displays.
On a side note, I've got a 65" HDTV in my media room with all sorts of inputs. It would be fun to fire up OS4 running on this Panda board in a 16:9 Workbench resolution. Pop in a mini-pci wireless card to surf the net, and a wireless keyboard with trackpad and I'm set.
AND, if it will support the additional daughter card with all of the inputs, it would make a nice compliment to my HD-DVR. Hmmmm... I'm seeing all sorts of fun uses for this high end board.Last edited by Herewegoagain on 16-Sep-2006 at 09:35 PM.

you will see standard ide connectors in the released version. What color Black, white, red?

Good to know! Please have all three IDE ports in different colors. This eases everything for the user. It's actually good to have several ports in different color. Why not have the PCI66 slot in a different color than the PCI33 for example?
Keep up the good work! _________________ /Harry

We've had discussions on and off with the Troika gang and will support their board when the time is right. There were only a few issues to sort out, insce we wanted to be a flexible between mobos as possible; MicroA1, Amy'05, etc... _________________

try http://www.pckeyboard.com - they own the original design/license AFAIK...and are producing them with USB plus the 'extra keys' nowadays, typing this from one as I write this..good stuff!

I hope U-Boot and OS4 can read from USB keyboards at all times or this could be a big issue. |
I've asked this one forever, going back to the 'fantasy case' with Amy or others. I think you're screwed in the event of a hard crash, no way to reboot short of a seperate reset switch somewhere.. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

Heck, now you're beeing very negative
My MacMini has only got 2 USB-ports and no PS/2, but I still have connected a PS/2 mouse and keyboard to it...
Using an USB to 2x PS/2 converter.Last edited by tomazkid on 17-Sep-2006 at 02:16 PM.

It's definitely an issue that was brought to our attention sometime back, but hopefully when we have a prototype configuration in the works, we'll find a solution to the problem. We would really like to take advantage of the internal USB interface to I/O with our keyboard. _________________

| Most of the old computer-in-a-keyboard designs had a reset switch built into them (the C64 being an exception, guess which hardware mod was the most popular for that machine? )
There should already be a header for a reset switch in the Amy'05, I think it's needed for ATX compliance. All the Fantasy case needs is a button to hook it up to. |

Note that at least some of these have issues with "the immortal IBM Model M", probably related to current draw :)
On the other hand, they are so cheap that trying won't break the bank... |

He went and earned himself an extended vacation, the length of which hasn't quite been finalised, but conceivably could be between 180 and when the cows come home. _________________ Test sig (new)
