Rogue has in the past jumped up and down explaining how he does not speak for Hyperion, so either (a) there is a rather significant change, or (b) Hyperion announced absolutely zip so far.

I was asked by the Hyperion management (officially) to ask someone from our beta list (officially) to announce the classic version (officially) on the Amiwest show.

I hope you got it this time.

damn... all other pci solutions are not as good as the g-rex approach...

If you don't get any sort of documentation, there is little you can do. Sure, we could go and try to reverse-engineer the thing, but that takes time, and I am sure some people would cry wolf about "IP-Theft" or something like that.

It is extremely easy to support another PCI solution, but we're not likely to try without the required documentation.

@AmiDog: do you know if cards which use prism2.device works?

And what is the reason that 3c589 doesn't work?

that mean hyperion have signed the NDA from ELBOX for the mediator documentation. Thats great.

Thanks a lot for all involved on the AOS4 for classic and for new PPC hardware.

@thread

There are as many opinions as there are people who post.

**However**....

I believe post #101 says it best. Before any of you are tempted to post ANYTHING else derogatory on this thread, I politely request you to go back and re-read Rogue's post.

If you have a problem with that, PM me. This is a 'News' thread, if you want to parry and thrust about something else, go start your own darn thread on the Forums.

I am drawing the line here __________________________________

Yes, I got it quite clearly that (officially) Hyperion, the company, is saying bugger all.

Come on, Evert travels to Italy to show off an empty box, but when it comes to actually promising delivery, he cannot be bothered to pick up a phone, create a pre-recorded message, or send an email himself? Instead, he asks you to ask someone else to make an "announcement".

Tell me honestly that you wouldn't be suspicious of such behaviour if it was done by, say, AI or Genesi. "Plausible deniability".

But hey, that's all easily solved --- let's see the great news proudly displayed on the company website, and it will be clear that all is indeed above board, that the announcement is indeed a genuine Hyperion announcement, and that the company has indeed committed itself to delivering this product at last. Wouldn't that be so much easier than getting all worked up over those evil conspiracy theorists who have the audacity to think that a Hyperion announcement should come from Hyperion first hand, not third hand?

I cant be bothered to read the whole thread - but I noticed yet again that the year is not specified...

Who wants to bet a second lawsuit will block this? Come on, if AI are so against it then surely thats what they would do!?

Rogue is doing the usual "question dodging", so don't expect a straight answer. Hyperion have not announced aos4 for amigas with ppc cards. Not sure why people are blindly ignoring this important fact.

So? I don't actually get your point, and clearly, how things work internally at Hyperion do not see to bother anybody but you.

Nor is it anybody's business but Hyperion's.

Honestly, I don't have any idea what you are talking about. I can only see you making up conspiracy theories. Plainly, I wouldn't give a second thought to anything that AI or Genesi might announce, through whatever channel, because I am not interested in any of their products, however, I am also not interested in urinating up their legs so I don't go posting on MorphOS sites about it.

Contrary to other people I know.

Well, it is quite easy: take it, or don't. I care not. Most people seem to be content as it is now, and yes, I suppose there will be an appropriate press release on the web site, but honestly, who (besides you) cares? It's easy to verify anyway, everybody will know on November 30th. Until that time, make of it what you would like.

Other than that, see my previous post (#101)

The year in question is 2007. And of course, to keep Bernie happy, I don't speak for Hyperion so this number is totally unofficial. I am quite sure that Bill or Steven would have mentioned a year had they known it was so bothersome.

I am dodging answers not questions. Subtle difference.

What part of my statement in comment #101 did you not understand? I admit that I am not a native English speaker, so if you want me to explain any specific part, please let me know so I can try and explain it maybe in easier words.

Food for thought: Since I also maintain Hyperion's web site, maybe everything you read there is something I made up myself?
