Re: My post #19 in this thread

Has anyone else tested these links with the 3 Amiga browsers?
4 actually if you count IBrowse (demo) and registered as 2.

Best Wishes,

@The_Editor

Thanks for checking. In addition:

Do you get a "Not Found" for Severin's link (first link)?
Do you get a "Object not found!" for the IntuitionBase link? (third link)

Best Wishes,
#6

@salass00

Which links work fine?
The_Editor has confirmed they do NOT work fine in AWeb 3.5.07.
Which browser are you using please?

Best Wishes,

Just tested with AWeb APL Lite 3.5.07 Beta OS4.0 PPC and I only get
through on #'s 2 & 4. The rest give a 'Not Found' error.

Cutting and pasting works.

Yesterday, I got through on:
#1 - http://www.severin.f2s.com/transcript.html
and
#5 - http://www.amigaos4.com/media/irc.html

#3 - IntuitionBase gave me a server is busy, try again later message.

@Why

Thank you for testing.
That was my conclusion this morning with AWeb APL Lite 3.5.07 Beta OS4.0 PPC.
Only links #2 and #4 connected.
Yep. Cutting and pasting.
Yep. #1 worked yesterday also as I experienced. But yesterday I took the link
straight from irc.

Voyager/IBrowse 2.3(demo) even worse results.

Note:When you "hand enter" a link, they always work. I often test under post
"preview" to be sure. The same link can fail miserably with Amiga browsers when
using "non hand entered" method, depending perhaps on the pc browser used to
post the link. Or it could be xoops.

Best Wishes,
#6

@number6

Links 1-3. Haven't checked any of the other links...

[edit]
Browser is Mozilla FireFox 1.0.7

[edit]
There's a space at the end of urls 1 & 3, maybe this is what causes problems with some browsers?

from html source:

@salass00

Thanks again for checking! (particularly your browser)

This is still looking like a browser issue, but let's see if we can get some
more input to narrow it down for sure. Note:I checked again and my results have
not changed since this morning.

Heh! Salass..thanks for the additional data. That is KEY!
It is up to the web literate people now to fix this. (not me)

Best Wishes,

now, read the transcripts and let us know what you think.

(1)Extremely readable
(2)Nice to have the extra info, but more difficult to extract the meat.
(3)404 error page not found
(4)Again, nice but difficult to read
(5)404 error page not found
(6)404 error page not found

Is it just me with the "404" errors?

Edit(Added):Comment on (1) based on reading yesterday. Today also "404" error here.

@ajs

Thank you for the post.
I have heard from others that these links work under emulation.
Once again, we have a case of different h/w s/w = different results.

Best Wishes,
#6

The only sensible approach is to release OS4 _with readily available hardware_.

And the only readily available hardware is the Pegasos2... I don't get why you *wait* for some other hardware that may or may not come. Not to mention the Pegasos already had different revisions,... and is proven to work correctly.

Especially when someone offered to pay you the licence,...
