I guess that's how they plan to make the required $500K...

JUST IN TIME!

But I would really be glad if there had also been a specific mention of AmigaOS 4...speculation is not over...yet...
But this is definitely good news! Looking forward for a demo...

All we need now is for AInc to pull their finger out and license this board.

Then we can have newly produce AOS4 hardware, surely it can't be any simpler.

What on earth are they waiting for, this is is everbodys interest.

There is gold in them, there boards.

AInc do it, do it now.

(Do AInc have any knowledge of the board existing )

Where to click and what is the price because I would like to spend some cash? :)

This was a bit ironic. You see, I know what is the website of Sam440 but I can't see in the press announcement (or on the website) anything that is connected with buying the board. It says only about availability for selected industrial customers. In any case, that information is still useless for any of us. It may take a lot of time when we finally put it on our desks. Good news is that they maybe have finished it but there is really no need to take it as a great break through because any of potential users still can't get their hands on it.

Use the LatticeXP to implement a bidirectional 440EP to A1200 (M68k bus) bridge and voila: the ultimate A1200 accelerator board.
Classic Amiga PPC solutions are covered by the current license so you don't need a new one from AmigaInc.

Acube/Hyperion: Is it possible to get a comment regarding OS4? Do you have a license or do you not? Have the porting of OS4 started?

EDIT I guess this answers my question: "There are a few subtle differences, most of which the PlayStation 3 version comes up on the short end of. The PS3 seems to have more jagged, aliased edges, and a framerate that is a little more stuttery. The soft glow and motion-blur effects do look better on the PS3 version, though there's times that it's laid on a bit too thick." From the carbon review on gamespot.

What a horrible game this is then.. The Need for Speed series was much better back in the old days.

I very much doubt it, since Amiga Inc is nothing more than a
pile of papers in a filing cabinet.

No.
Amiga Inc. is well aware of the development of this project.
Bill McEwen quote from .mp3 file played at Pianeta Amiga, Septemeber, 2006:

Quote:
there is a team and a group of people in Italy who've developed a new piece of hardware based off of the next generation of that power pc chip, the power pc 440 and I have been very pleased in working with the Samantha team, and I know they'll be showing you this new product, and we're looking forward to getting OS4 on that platform and available as this will allow us to have new products, new hardware. In running with the PowerPC 440, it will enable new product types to be delivered in the portable area,

The project came to his attention about the time of last year's Codex Alpe Adria show in Italy, btw.

Added: Since I posted this same information before here in post #35 and since you posted after reading my post, I am curious why you would continually bring up the same issue?

Great! Another PPC board which can't run AOS4 due to ownership rangling and licensing issues between AInc. and Hyperion, but now available for purchase to run Linux on...sort of.

Refer to the quote posted by number6:

Many implications could be made from that, not least of which would be that it has obtained the necessary licensing. Now I am by no means saying that it has gained it, but the implications are certainly there.

Congrats on getting your hardware ready.

And, exactly how much have been said from Mr. McEwen
after the Italian Amiga show?..

How is the legal case going between Mr. Hare and Amiga Inc?..
Did he win the shiny cabinet?
