@Hyperion

What aspects of OS4 have you have to drop from the initial 4.0 release? Into which release are these items now scheduled?

Which aspects of OS4 are you most proud (collectively) - i.e. what was the biggest challenge, or made the most impact upon the rest of the project?

How many man hours have been spent on OS4 (development, testing, etc.) so far? How many more hours are planned/budgeted?

I'll keep thinking!

It involves Jessica Alba, a bowl of whipped cream, and dirty talk about "kernel" and "drivers".

In his most recent post, HyperionMP's language seems to be broadly inline with that of Amiga Inc's talk of embedded, mobile, consumer devices, etc... although bizarrely, EntilZha indicates there is still focus on the desktop.

So I am wondering, in addition to the embedded/multimedia stuff:
- Will efforts still be made in the desktop market? (new OS releases, new hardware for the desktop user, etc...)
- Will attempts be made to start making some growth in the desktop market?

Knowing that you're responsible for software but not for hardware... What do you (personally) think about Apple switching to x86 based Macs?

Knowing that you only have a licence for porting OS4 to a PPC based platform... What about your HAL: would it be difficult to port OS4 to x86 (not necessarily an "IBM compatible")? Would you be interested in a port if anyone planned to build an x86 based Amiga?

Knowing that you're waiting for Genesi to ask for a port of OS4 for the Pegasos... Do you have any intentions to make OS4 available on PPC based platforms besides the AmigaOne on your own (maybe those fancy next generation consoles or whatever)?

Question: There was mention last year of a "truly inspirational game". Nothing more was given away then. Are you able to give any further details and shed some light on this truly intriguing project? Or has it been put on the backburner indefinitely?

Can we please try and keep this on track?

This should be 20 Questions for Hyperion

Mind you, there are so many questions by Orgin already, perhaps we should do two lots, Orgin's and everyone else's

Question: Once OS4 is released, what sort of gaming genres can we expect to see releases for? First-person shooters? Flight simulators? Adventure? RTS?

Question: With all this talk of "mystery device" hardware and whatnot, in terms of gaming, what will cross-compatibility be like? Will firmware updates need to released, thereby allowiing "backwards compatibility" with the A1-S/XE and μ-Α1?

Of course, this also could be true of normal OS operations.

No time to read through this thread, but my questions...

After I get my house finished, I plan to get back @ Amiga hobby.
I plan to refresh my coding skills with the Amiga and use my SW profession skills to help the platform.

Q1: How should I use my efforts to give the best help/support for AOS?

Q2: Do you accept new beta testers?

Q3: Do you have any jobs for freelance hobby/part time developers ?

@GutuMeditation & Hyperion & preferences

Some kind of grouping of preferences things would be nice, but not by putting everything in same big master control thing. (do not mimic the butterfly operating system)
