Who is Garry Hare? Want to find out more?

Well here are some links and comments for your edification...

Garry Hare at Atari ( 1986 ) Ballblazer game. ( You need to google search for that and click on the cached version, I couldnt get to the main atariage site ).

http://www.atariage.com/programmer_page.html?SystemID=5200&ProgrammerID=98

Programmer and support at Luminara and Lucasarts:

http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,23416/

Founder and president of Fathom Pictures ( Interactive Multimedia Software ).

http://www.videonics.com/videos/about-web-video.html

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/5.02/ffdrivesim.html?pg=2&topic=gaming

Google Cache link ( most info )

http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/04/time.html

His name misspelt on the PlayOnDemand site as Executive VP to Broadband Content Into Networks Inc:

http://www.playondemand.com/present/nbma/mtgbios/nbmapanel420.htm

More as I find them, will be added. Seems hes been into some cool stuff! In fact the Fathom Pictures links go on for pages.

Garry Hare also was President and COO of OZ.com and the founding MD of Phillips Media Europe! Looks like Fathom have something to do with the CD-i. Looks like he has been into the same kind of things that Amiga was known for ( multimedia, games ).

OZ was into the same stuff ( interactive ) it seems but I dont have macromedia flash player to find out more There is an OZ.com which deals in instant messaging and J2ME based stuff and they have a deal with T-Mobile. They have offices in the UK, Canada and Iceland so maybe Sibbi can send them a Pizza

( Edit, vaguely chronological order now )

The Amigaworld 'Staff' have known about this for a little while I think, so I wouldn't be suprised to see some kind of interview appear shortly.

Hmmn, I checked their website and except a typo error and a "You don't have permission to access /contact/ on this server." I see just video editing stuff. No software.
Ok, at least we may see a professional video editing software for OS4

Thanks Dave.

It's good to see someone posting some information in this period of uncertainty.

Any links to anything KMOS based? What does KMOS standfor (if anything) anyway?

Hmmmm. From a preliminary glance, this guy is a hardcore game producer.

Makes me wonder what he wants with an OS.

Apart from playing games that is.

Errrr.... this is probably a good thing....

Maybe he'll have some fresh ideas.
He seems geeky enough to at least put a website up himself.

I think we'll shortly get an introduction from him stating when he bought his first Amiga, how he loves the platform, how he wants to unify the community and how he wants to drive the platform in the future. YADA!!! YADA!!! YADA!!! The same thing every new head to the chopping block says.

C'mon he's obviously had a year to think of something to say.... So where is it!!!!

His silence implies that he isn't even reading any forums when he should be its greatest advocate!!!!!

Of course as usual, there will be no specifics on the future and his ideas will all be vapour, and he will stay incommunicado for months at a time.

His only hope is to start an "Ask Gary" section. I don't care if it is on his own website. Where the hell is it then. It just proves he is not listening and is an uninterested F$#@. I'd even settle for talk of "Orthoganal Persistence" at this point. It would be better than silence!!!!

Just don't call him and expect an answer. Not until 5-6pm anyway.

Damn, I'm so jaded!!!! But isn't that synonymous with Amiga enthusiast these days.
Oh wait... Maybe it's Amiga pessimist these days. Doah!!!

Hey you're right.

This guy sounds like one smart cookie.
In fact, listening to him, I already like him.

Pure speculation, of course, but bearing in mind his past credentials he would want to be taking Amiga into the set top market, delivering interactive streaming content and games on demand.

Sorta sounds like he would want to create something like the Phantom console only based on AmigaOS and not WinCE. COOL!!!!

An Amiga Console at last!!!! Happy, Happy JOY JOY!!!!!

Sounds like he's got some contacts too.
Imagine if he's been doing this for a year.
OMG. He could end up making one hell of an announcement.

And....of course Eyetech would be keeping Mum about this if they were to be building the boxes.

No, no, surely a secret like this couldn't be kept from us.
Yet out of the blue comes this KMOS thing, A YEAR LATER!!!!

The Hyperion guys must be pissing in their pants!!!!

If this all comes true, I think I'm gonna cry..........

I usually don't touch emoticons.....but its been such an emotional day!!!
Up and down and up and down. I can't take this any more.

Woot! Garry Hare, of crappy Ballblazer fame!

Not exactly the best game ever released by LucasArts. If I had been told one day that the AmigaOS would be bought by an ex-Lucas employee, I would have lobbied hard for someone like Ron Gilbert, Brian Moriarty or Tim Schaffer... This doesn't look like the Miner Tunnel, Sam!

Let's keep things in perspective a little. There is no evidence yet that this move is going to make things any better or worse.

It would be nice to have some response from KMOS. I wonder what they are arranging with regards to the PartyPack offer and the $50 coupons - both of which I am holders of.

Well the Party Pack is for AmigaDE, which you will still have to take up with Amiga Inc. As for the $50 for the Club Amiga admissions and discount on A1/OS4, then I have no idea, but I would imagine that would still be directly in Amiga Inc.'s hands as well. Just my 2 cents worth.
