Software News   Software News : FPSE - Free/Final PlayStation Emulator Database Design Update.
posted by Toaks on 20-Nov-2004 0:23:16 (7743 reads)
After alot of back and forth The New FPSE database Website is ready.

FPSE has been out for AmigaOS4 since this summer and we have seen updates continuously to this wonderful emulator, but the main thing for many was questions like "Does this game work?" or "How well does that game work?" etc., and that was the reason why THE FPSE DATABASE for the Amiga Community was created.

Thanx to OleEgil we had a preliminary FPSE database up within a few days and it did the job nicely for a while but we needed more and OleEgil was a busy man so I announced that we needed some help and maybe some webspace for a new site and thats what this announcement is about.

So far The Database has 355 games in it and new things like accounts and most of all it is able to sort "by" Date, submitter and state.

The FPSE Database is located here

FPSE the emulator can be located Here

The Database is hosted by Amidog and it was made by Martin Bergmann.

Ok so now it's time, register an account and start adding more games to the database!

nah..because i had to ADD all , now what u have to do now is create an account and then type in the game you want (if u have diffrent results than me) and then i will delete my entry.

also remeber... ps1 games aint rare so we might ahve a few games that both of us have.

but yes all games that has old releases on FPSE is games i dont have so i cant update em or test so youre welcome to type in the info.

no grudges eh?

MartinB: correct..

i stood between 2 things:

1. Take only ALL my entries (85% of all entries in the old DB)

or

2. Take Everyone and make sure the db was complete and then let the old submitters re add all the stuff and then i would delete the old entries.

cheers

Understood. So you managed to get R/C Stunt Copter working then? My version says 'analog controller found' and keyboard control does not work at all...

Ok...I'll check through the games I have from FPSE and see if there is anything to report...

No, boss, no grudges at all...

OK I hope you'll pardon a stupid question, but
I've never used any of my Amigas for games.

I have an old Playstation and a few dozen games
for it, though I only ever play Spyro.

Once my A1 is up and running, what will I need
to get FPSE up and running? What should I use
for a controller? Anything elso I should know?

Thanks,
Lyle

Ylehaze:

a keyboard and a Psx ROM and a game is all u need.

later u can add a controller and warp3d etc....if u want.

dont know if u where the one who reported it works or not (rc copter) but i for sure doesnt have this game so the entry in the db was made by someone else..i just retyped it in the new one.

i know it needs an analog controller but all other games i have seen so far that needs one runs fine but its unplayable as u need an analog controller (fishermans bait 2 , tombrarider 3 (or was it 4???) and so on..

cheers

I did the original report for the game (R/C Stunt Copter) as 'not working' (because of the analog joystick requirement problem). Don't know if somebody else has later modified it. I just noticed that in the new FPSE it is marked as working, and I would like to know if somebody has managed to run it properly...

Yes, I am using the new DB (why else would I complain about my name missing from contributor field?). The "R/C Stunt Copter" is described as 'PERFECT' (to some of us it is a synonym to 'working' you know)

Because you cannot play the game at all with the keyboard, it should be marked 'not working' IMHO.

I'll do that tomorrow after trying it out on a newer version of FPSE (I assume the user/password combo I used in the old FPSE db is still valid?)...
