Software News   Software News : AmigaAMP 2.15 released!
   posted by Anonymous on 24-Jul-2005 22:36:28 (4151 reads)
Thomas Wentzel has released a bugfix release of his great MP3 player AmigaAMP.

Download it and have fun.

Quote:

Once again some minor bugfixes. The PPC engines now can handle changes of
the playback frequency within MP3 files or streams. Also I've slightly
improved the error robustness so hopefully the PPC decoder doesnt crash
because of malicious MP3 files any more. Streaming from slow shoutcast
servers has been improved, too.

If you've got questions please use the discussion board first. I will
check it regularly.

Hmm after unarchiving it, and copying it over to my existing AmigaAmp directory, the program fails to work. I get "Unable to Find your Tool AmigaAmp" even though I am clicking on it's icon, the program itself is in the same directory

Anyone else?

@Mikey_C

AmigaAMP 2.15 is working here! But it fails to connect shoutcast servers. Says; "No TCP/IP Stack Running!"

@doMINO

select mpega (it must be in c:) in the config and AmigaAMP connect Shoutcasts.
With "Autodetected" it`s not work and the error with "No TCP/IP Stack Running!" occures.

regards
McFly

it works here though had to set file bits.

though this version seems to eat more cpu than the older one, anyone noticed that?

@McFly

Thanks. No error with mpega engine. But this time equalizer doesn't work. We must choose one: Listening shoutcast radios or adjusting equalizer...
Hmm, which one should i choose

@Toaks

Yes the first time I ran it it hogged the CPU so much that dragging windows
was very jerky. Then I did a cold boot and it behaved much better.

In general I can't notice much difference but I have not played around with it
that much yet.

Btw has anyone talked to Thomas about doing a native OS4 version lately?

There's also an issue somewhere, forgot how I got to this, but you'll get a message saying 'AmigaAmp Beta, not for distribution' somewhere..

BTW, when I set to only use mpega.library, it behaved oddly, with occasionally 'stopping' the mouse pointer, very ood, have to look into it further tho.

Sicky- I've gotten the 'unfreed signals' at exit on it since previous versions as well. Doesn't seem to cause any problems in operation, however.
