| Pointer work is very strange, so it is unusable. I tried to use it through RDesktop, maybe that's why it isn't working properly. Any ideas? |

I had same problem when running it thru AmiVNC (VVA), probably it is not uncommon to have this problem when running multiple remote clients/virtual machines in another with different resolutions etc.Last edited by quenthal on 26-Jun-2007 at 11:21 PM.

| AROS is indeed an awesome OS what a shame you cannot do anything with it. I think more support should be put into AROS, I will consider this a second OS for x86 over Linux. |

1 million keystrokes for me to port the main game. + 1 million keystrokes for someone (not me) to invent a way to play MedMods on AROS. _________________ Wanna try a wonderfull magical Amiga strategy game? Total Chaos AGA

| I've installed it, checked it, and DELETED it right away. So much time and effort in something ugly like this. Unbelievable!
It's not even 1% of what OS4 has to offer. Unusable and bad gui interaction, ugly widgets, ugly icons... ugly everything!
This is not an Amiga experience for me. _________________ AmigaScene.nl

| I must say i am very disappointed. Last year's winaroslight and this one has no differencies. It crawls like snail on my 1.7ghz, pointer controls are horrible, most of supplied progs don't work, window opening and moving are bad....
And 2-3 resets in 5-10 minutes of testing. Uninstalled.
But, maybe it is slow because of that qemu? What does it really work? I don't understand; aros is x86 native, why does it need some emulator? _________________ May the force be with you...

Are you sure you tried last years WinAros at all ?

Really ? Here it is quite usable (AMD64 3000+)

Are you sure you are talking about this WinAros ? I had no crashes at all !

Of course it is slow because of QEMU. (It emulates a full PC) You can install KQEmu (Kernel Mode Driver) to make it faster.
If you want to try the native speed of AROS, just burn a CD from the nightly build and boot from that.
BTW some actual screenshots:

Of course qemu slows it down. But you see, this is WinAros, so that you can try out Aros in a box without actually installing it. It is much easier to try things (other OSs) out by running them in virtual machines/emulators than starting from scratch and install them directly to your hard drive, don't you agree?

Usability suffers some from running it hosted. But when it comes to eyecandy, you can naturally change it alot to your liking. |

Yep. I had some version, the same look like this one.

3000+? I am talking of 1.7ghz. And it works slower than my A1230/50mhz.

Well, i'll give it a try.

Can't get it; it emulates full PC? Well, my pc is full. I have MB, gfx card, sound card... Even keyboard and mouse :)

Not that much of a difference compared to a 1.8Ghz AMD64 3000+, don't you think? ;)
