For the 21st of June there was an ' AmigaOS4 on Tour' event planned for Basel. I travelled from Holland to Switzerland to write a report for AmigaWorld.net regarding this event.

Read the report

Looks like Hans-Jörg Frieden left us for the time
being. Bloody shame. And just when he got that cool
new avatar going too.

Hopefully he'll be back. Let's hope Thomas and Ben
will still be around to throw us some scraps of
AOS4-wisdom in the future.

Ooookay.....now this is a bit immature of hyperion, or whoever was the anonymous dude. The guy acts childish by throwing everything away, and at the end saying:

"Do whatever you want, folks"

This sentence is an example of what I've been trying to tell Hyperion......they can't be involved in very hard discussions on a daily basis, without it getting to their nerves.

No it's not childish, having a go at them for answering things on the forum is a bit childish. It is because of the nitpicking and flaming that the Friedens left the forums once before. Now because of your outburst, they have seen fit to leave it once more, and we are the worse off for it. I hope you are happy now.

@SlimJim:

Yes, it is indeed a shame that both the Hans and Thomas have departed for now. Hopefully we will see them return again, as their input is greatly appreciated by the majority of people who visit. At least we still have Ben to quash the odd rumour that may surface between now and OS4's release.

@ paulsamiga,

Yes, you missed a small battle by the looks of it. Anyway, time to pick ourselves up again and we can all try to cheer up Orgin!

Has anyone seen a link for OS4.0 on tour photos from the weekend?

Bean.

@Ian

About 13 years ago I got on my trakka and went to Uni and now work near Winchester ( and live in frogland ).

Still got fond memories and family in Norfolk.

After youve learned how to drive a trakka, an Amiga is simplicity itself

I didn't mean for them to leave totally - but only to take care not to engage in negative stuff like they did. The way they smacked the door behind them, shows exactly what I was trying to tell them...never get to emotionally involved in hard discussions with ppl's, or suddenly it backfires.

And they have apparently done it before, as I can understand. Maybe they should consider how they act in the forums, instead of smacking doors in the communitys faces. (Not that we don't deserve it from time to time)

But we surely don't deserve to get such an exit remark as anonyomous gave. But what the heck...he was probably hurt and angry, and got carried away.

Well...anyway...now they can get back to the real buisness....getting AmigaOS done, without fighting for every step they make in the forums.

That's the way it should be!

Work hard - and show up when you've got something to show. Otherwise stay far away.

Amiga Inc. seems to get the message....they haven't said a word for several months (compared to what they used to) - and that is the proper way to do it.

If you've got nothing constructive to say....don't say anything!

And blaming me for the Friedens departure is a bit hard, because it was just a matter of time before something else would have driven them away.

If Hyperion was my company, my employees would never ever be allowed to engage in hard personal discussions in amiga forums....that's for sure.

So stop making me the bad guy, and realise that the Friedens had it coming. It was just a question of time.

the only thing I regret, is that i sweared in one of my remarks to them. That was stupid, because I didn't mean it as hard as they interpreted it....damn (ups..did it again)

If someone has a go at your work or attacks you personally, you usually respond. However, looking nack through this thread at the now "anonymous" postings, I still do not see where both the Friedens are meant to have engaged in negative mudslinging, not to the degree that you imply they have.

They are anonymous because those members have now deleted their accounts. Note that all the anon postings in this thread are not hyperion, most are from z5. However, Hans' leaving comment was one where you can see the frustration these guys have from the hassling comments like yours give them. They are only doing a job to make an up to date OS for you guys and gals, and you keep giving them grief for no real reason. If they wish to take time to talk on the forums that is their right, just as you are not expected to work 24/7, neither are they - they do have lives outside of their work.

And that doesn't work either. AI stay quiet, people spread rumours - which when AI do not respond, people presume are true. If they do respond, they are told to be lying and so it goes round and round getting nowhere and just generally irritating everyone. Hyperion are working hard, and the results of their work is availble for you to see in the OS4 tour, and the screenshots, and in their responses on forums and sites such as this. Accusing them of not working solely because they defend themselves from comments is pushing it too far.
