| Thanks as always for the update.
Its good to see another update for Icaros as the Iconify feature feels like another big leap forward in usability/functionality even if it is still a little buggy and unstable.
I am normally against any update that decreases stability but I am glad that you went with including the snapshoting of icons and iconify features in a patch as soon as possible as to me they make AROS feel more Amiga like

Many useful and important features had been added during the "papercuts initiative" in the last 3 months. As I earlier said (maybe elsewhere), these changes creates a "pre-" and "post-" prospective for AROS, so it was mandatory - IMHO - for Icaros Desktop to integrate them as soon as possible.
About iconification: like most of you, I would have been very happy if it worked flawlessly from day 1, however we are talking about a feature that must interact with applications, and in the past applications "could" use iconification, but lack of support has always forbidden that. And testing as well. This means that some programs may need some fix to work properly, not counting the fact that also AROS support for iconification must be still completed. I'd had forwarded this feature for the next Icaros release, but I guess people would like to play with it ASAP, and the more reports come, the faster it will be fixed.
Patching Icaros this way allows me to give users all these candies at once, and also to continue devloping the next Icaros more quietly. |

I'm glad you did. You need a certain amount of engagement with the project to read about the patches, install them and then go to Zune Prefs and hit the "I" button. So I'm sure users will understand the warnings.
Personally, I just tried out a bunch of applications and made a mental note of which crashed with Iconification. Things like NoWinEd and OWB work, so it's already useful.
