software AROS   software AROS : Netsurf 68k now in Aros Vision 68k
   posted by OlafS25 on 16-Jul-2012 11:07:07 (6331 reads)
I have made a small update to 1.5.1. because I have a working version of Netsurf 68k (2.6 or 2.7, 2.8 and 2.9 not working at the moment)

A screenshot showing Netsurf "in action":

All improvements:

Added:
Netsurf 68k

Updated:
Wazp3D (Warp3D)
newest Roms (14.7.)
new Shortcuts (ALT I for Netsurf)

Full Download:
http://www.natami-news.de/html/distribution_download.html

Only Netsurf 68k:
http://www.natami-news.de/Aros/Netsurf.zip

When integrating it yourself: it needs stacksize 500000 and can only be started from CLI (not by clicking on icon)

Extended compatiblity page (Games and Applications):

i would like to know if anyone uses it at all. thinking that OWB is usable on classics is delusional. thinking that using netsurt meant-to-be-used on UAE is normal is delusional. this distro has simply no sense. even on imaginary natami

oh, 'using' system unusable on a real thing is certainly an art. pretending to use it on anything than emulated system 10x times faster than the real thing has to be FUN

it IS used already in Aros distributions for 68k support. And you do not need to download and use it

How do you define a "real" thing? A unexpanded A500?

Besides included are Aweb AND Netsurf

And besides... up to now a lot of people liked it so I do not see a problem if some persons have a different opinion. You are not forced to use it.

oh, you mean anyone with real HW amiga uses this? like OWB on 060? or netsurf on 060? AGA? Or even lets stretch this. 060 with cybervision? you have to be joking. and no, my definition of a real thing mean fastest available amiga. like 060/80.

liked it means some random people wrote 'yeah, it rules' without even trying it. or some other UAE people without realising how real hardware works... dream on

oh, and sorry, if you thing that creating random distro is art then it is fine with me. really. just let me call it an unusable joke:) just like people call demoscene productions;)

my priority is not "real" classic hardware right now. I am the creator of the distribution and test it on fast hardware, others are adapting and optimizing it for classic hardware. So I am the wrong person for you. You could also say Amikit or Amigasys on real hardware "dream on". Then you are back to 3.1.

Yes I "dream on" because I know it is used. Why do you think it is only targetting classic hardware? Dream on...

optimizin for the real hardware? like choosing OWB against netsurf and hoping it will run faster? or even, lets go lower, using current 68k netsurf? yeah, nice joke:)

"really. just let me call it an unusable joke:)"

I better do not comment this because I know how this "community" works with many people not doing anything but attacking others... Please do not waste our time further

owb is not a part of the distribution. it compiles for 68k, attempts to run to a certain point, but some mui classes are still missing as toni lately reports., myself i only once tried to run it in an earlier phase. what concerns netsurf, its working about the same as on original aos, the problem is i wasnt successful to establish a network on my a4000 under aros68k. kierowniku, nie ma sie co tak denerwowac, to w koncu zabawa.., w kazdym razie dla mnie, bo ja testuje aros na amigach.

:D

btw.. one could ask himself whats the point to run netbsd on real amiga and support this all weird hardware, yet someone does work on it. and aros is already so much more user friendly, i know since i installed it lately with radoslaw's help.

this only confirms it is a joke. none of You really have an idea how this software will run on an Amiga. And i mean real amiga. and the only reason i'm writing about OWB vs NetSurf is because i did read some aros and amiga forums. Not only you* can't make netsurf run at deceny speed and now there is a hope you can make OWB do it....

*you-amiga/aros developers

Ps. please, do prove me wrong:)

@wawa:

"kerowniku, nie ma sie co tak denerwowac, to w koncu zabawa.., w kazdym razie dla mnie, bo ja testuje aros na amigach."

alez ja sie nie denerwuje. po prostu mam popiwny trolling;)
