Am I the only one who find this behavior annoying? According to swedish law, any marketing which target individuals must state the price including VAT. I assume the Italian laws are different, but it's still annoying.

Also, since you pay VAT, not in the "destination" country, but in the "origin" one within EU, you need to know the VAT rate in Italy to be able to calculate the real price.

@Amidog

i'm sorry but i do not agree, the VAT is not the same for all europen country, how many prices do they put on the web? For example in Italy is 21% now, in Germany 19% , in Sweden 25%, ecc. The rules are that they sell to other european sellers without VAT and the local sellers add local VAT. You don't have to know the VAT rate in Italy to calculate the final price, you have to add your local VAT and the price will be more os less real, i say so because the reseller could add something else for example shipping costs. Furthermore you have to remember that they sell outside europe too and the rules are different.

Well news, these Samep models are the best because the OS4.1 works fine with them and the 3D and sound drivers too, this with the Sam460ex not.

Perhaps with MorphOS running on the Sam460ex will disappear these problems?

MOS runs on Sam460? That's news to me...

But boy oh boy are these machines costly... Included with a monitor and adding VAT(25%), it would cost me very close to 1000 euros to get this entry model OS4 machine!? They need to offer something for a lot less... Now I seriously doubt that the netbook will be anywhere as cheap as announced.

@SOFISTISOFTWARE

As it's Acube offering these new models, and not AmigaKit, Vesalia or any other reseller, they should include the actual VAT you need to pay if you order from them. Which apparently is 21% according to your post.

If it's the resellers which market these new models, they should include whatever VAT you have to pay when ordering from them.

What´s wrong with 3D graphics and sound on SAM 460? 3D works just as fine with SAM 460 as SAM 440 with the right graphics card and the internal sound chip works fine with the latest drivers.

@AmiDog

Yes, ACube could sell directly to you or somebody else and you have to add italian VAT and shipping cost, but these "new" models could be distributed by AmigaKit, Vesalia, ecc and the things will change

@Templario: It is the one at OS4dept. They work just fine for me, they worked even before the latest drivers but the latest update really improved things.

I guess I risk taking this thread OT now but I suppose you don't see the sound chip in AHI prefs? In that case, try removing all other drivers from the AHI drawer (rename them or temporarily move them to another drawer) and reboot. See if there are any SM502 entry in AHI prefs after that.

edit: typo

@thread

About VAT:

Non european customers don't pay the Italian VAT but they have to pay the taxes in their own country. So they need to see prices without VAT

European customers will pay the italian VAT (21%), no matter in which country they are.

Note: the above is for end customers only, not companies.

@Softissoftware
But these prices are Acubes prices not Amigakit or Vesalias prices, so including VAT shouldn't be a problem.

You should buy a Radeon 9xxx if you want "NOW" a proper 3D support for your current 460 machine, or just wait AmigaOS 4.2 when the Radeon HD will be supported properly (with Mesa/Gallium) ..

It's not a news ..

Would be exactly the same, currently MorphOS does not support any Radeon HD model, so in the event MorphOS will be ported to Sam460 you should use a Radeon 9xxx, aka no 3D using a Radeon HD ..

I prefer it to be without tax since I'm outside EU. In my case I would have had to deduct italian tax and then add norwegian tax to get the correct price (and also, prior to making the order, I would have to ask Acube if deducting tax is even possible, since I wouldn't know). See how that was MUCH more complicated than simply calculating "price x 1.(applicable tax)"

@samo79
I bough my sam460ex with all Radeon HD, case, memory, hard disk all to avoid the problems that I had with my Sam440.

well, our common project runs fine under MOS and now it is 0.70 with the old-ugly GUI but with all corrections and improvements but I don't know if launching to OS4 with the current problems.

@Templario

Yes, but even before it was already know that there were no 3D support under Radeon HD until the OS4.2 release, so again if you want play 3D software you should buy an old Radeon card, that's it ..

I presume you already knew that the day you decide to buy your Sam460, don't you ?

Of course it's not so good but again isn't a big issue at the end, a Radeon 9200 is about 20-30 euro

Swedish law does not apply in Italy.

Wrong.

VAT is charged at the rate of the destination country.

See here for details.
