Ok thanks, Ill take these forward and as Bjorn sayes, a poll might also help.

I think it is vital to have a "calm" Amiga site.

I am suprised so much was made of that first question. We get accused of not asking "tough" questions, and when we put forward one, we get told we shouldn't have.

In all fairness, I thought the question was valid given the current situation, and I believe the answer Fleecy provided was fair and to the point. I do not see any reason to attempt to turn either that question or its answer into some kind of flamewar vendetta.

Wasn't Metz a German town? (I know it from Panzer General II).

The team Mets and/or Metz is a New York baseball team or something?

Yeah, it was Metz. They spent a fortune advertising that stuff on UK tv for ages, but it seems to have disappeared now.

To change the direction somewhat....
I liked the answer to question 2
OS4 by christmas...

Is that a deadline set on Hyperion by Amiga ? or is it still .
Makes sence Amiga being an American Company, end of the finacial year etc.

Much rather have that to play with than read yet another Amiga Broke, fleecy lies, amiga sucks thread.

????

I hope they are gonna press on with the AmigaDE.

http://www.zeoneo.com/ is going nowhere. Even their forums are down. When is Crossword evolution coming up?

The AmigaDE responses were horrible. They were the same as saying nothing.

Heh. I wouldn't sweat it. Personally, I don't think you owe any of these [insert mumbled derogatory name here] an explanation as to why you assumed one thing or another. You and I have already agreed to let me speak on behalf of server problems in the future, so don't even give a second thought to the nonsense discussions regarding this server nonsense.

Oh no!! You're turning "blue" now??

P.S. To the "blue" people in attendance, that was not meant as a racist comment. Smurfs, relax.

Hey there

we are in lots of discussions with over a dozen partners about taking the AmigaDE and its SDA content. We just can't talk about it because you just don't 'out' such companies. Doing business across public forums is not the best way to appear as a professional company.

As for Zeoneo, I know that they are rebuilding thei web presence, that they have just completed a beta test of Crossword Evolution with full support for downloadable books and a range of signed on professional constructors, and that Invasion, surely one of the best Space Invader/Galaxian/Zalaga games I have ever played is just about to go into beta test.

there are also great new games from Kaliko, Boing'Em, John Harris, Lower Mars, Omniscience, Zoltan to name just a few.

As far as Amiga is concerned, we will only announce something when it is signed, sealed and delivered. Why does everyone in this community ask us to do this and then also expect almost private updates on all our activities?

cheers

This is Davina from the Fleecy House, the next idea that is due to exit [whoooooooo! yeah big it up]
is Revolving Swizzling Pointers [ big it up guys! ]....

...now Revolving Swizzling Pointers - can I call you RSP? Yeah? [ isnt that great audience - wild applause ] how do you feel about being voted out by your housemates?

(etc)

It's a number of things really. They don't want to know about anything until it is completed and out simply because there have been so many disappointments in the past, so many false hopes, and many people getting burned, so they dont want to get thier hopes up and get just to be disappointed once more.
On the other hand, there is light at the end of the tunnel....just out of reach, but that tunnel seems to get longer just as that light seems to be within reach. They are tired and impatient after waiting so long for thier beloved Amiga to be back, for the dream or vision to be realized, and they lust after any tidbit they can to keep that fire of hope burning!Of course there is another section that for whatever reason, have an axe to grind or want Amiga to fail, be this directly Amiga Inc's fault or not. They lust after anything that may be announced to fail so they can leap upon the soapbox and wail about more broken promises, betrayals and so on, complete with the gorilla like beating of chests and gnashing of teeth. It matters not if any percieved failure is within the control of Amiga Inc. or not.
Then there is the last section, that much like the second section have an axe to grind, except it is a personal one against someone or someones within Amiga Inc.These people may or may not also be in the same section as the Amiga Inc detractors, but they hope for the same thing to further thier agenda's against that person or persons.

Both these latter sections are somewhat smaller combined than the first section of the community.

And lastly it is hard, especially after the failure of Escom, Gateway, phase 5 ,Visicorp, Commodorre itself, and any others I may have missed. But we have the Aone, and OS4 is just so tantalizing, we are all like starving people people at the dining table looking at crackers.Sure the crackers will ease the hunger a bit, but what we really want is that roast beast we can smell cooking, yet not quite done in the next room, and that smell drives us nuts.

Hey there

interesting thoughts, and I agree with you. It us why we struggled for the first two years, saying too much and getting hung for it, saying too little and allowing rumours to spread.

Having AmigaOS4.0 on the A1 is going to change so many things in the the community.

thanks for bearing with us

cheers

There is a lack of questions and therefor I believe this staff member did not have much choice. And sadly these issues are in fact very relevant to the current status of the Amiga community

There are not a lack of questions, I would be happy to supply at least 50... but I doubt Fleecy would answer any of them.

I don't any more.

It seems the best way to get rid of the truth is by ignoring it.

PS. @Fleecy, you would do well to read Gary_c's comments. Even though people here seem to have missed it, he was arguing using logic rather than using any "facts". You can't argue against logical reasoning without looking foolish.
