We have found the perfect place to hold AmiGBG 2004. At Lindholmens Science Park. We have also made a deal with restaurant Tres, so all visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a nice lunch in the same building.

Finally we found a place worth hosting the party of the year! The place is recently built and have all the fancyness you could imagine.

Pleace check it out at Time & Place

This looks really awsome! You guys expecting somethin'
big to go down on the show, me wonders?

I'm very tempted to go, but I don't know anything about my
future schedule yet. Perhaps I'll just go book a ticket just for
the heck of it ... I want a name tag this year!

Wow, this looks great. If my budget would stretch, i'd love to go to Sweden.

Maybe next year

Good luck to all involved - this looks like it could be brilliant!

@Ryu

I'm definately going this year. After missing last year (working), I'm up for it now.
Ryan Air are always doing deals and you can even fly for free (well a penny each way +Tax), if you catch the right deal. I was there for New Year and it cost me £62 inc Tax.

@Shoe
How far is this place from the centre? I'll be flying into the City Airport and wondered where it was, as I'll be staying near the station (unless I go straight to Uddevalla to see friends).

AmiGBG is held on a rather large island (about 1-2 kilometers from the central station, you can take a bus or ferry and be there in 5-10 minutes) and Gothenburg City Airport is located on this large island. Sounds perfect to me :)

We'll also activate a cellular for people who urgently needs to call us about directions or with whatever questions they might have.

Somehow, I have a good feeling about this event.. *GRIN*

mawrick:well if there is many who wants to attend from norway , a minibus is always an option..

we will drive from haugesund, plan is atm to go over with the ferry to denmark and pick up a friend there (as i desperately need a vacation aswell :) (before and after the amigbg) , anyway if we wont go that way then we will drive trough MOSS/asker , hence i could pick up people all the way from bergen->oslo..

a plan would be nice though :)

atm we will be MAX 3 if we dont go to denmark, and 4 / 5 if we go to denmark and then gøteborg.

i am sure there is alot of people who want to go but dont have a car or friends who will go etc.

i hope to see ALOT of people in amigbg this year though the place looked abit small, but then again i have no idea :)

yep, guess I will not decide until later, depends a bit what I'm doing in april, but I'm hoping to go, the flight didn't cost all that much either so guess I'l be going that way I *think*, think it costed about 1500NOK Bergen--->Gøteborg and back so wasn't too bad.....

Toaks: When are you going up to Gøteborg?
Friday?

If so - are there room for one more from DK? (and room for an A1)

Cheers

I'm really pleased to hear that so many of you are coming! It's been said before but I'll say it again. This year will be something Extra!
As reflect stated, the fair is practically in the centre of Gothenburg. (Se the "travel by car" map on our Time&place page)
It's really close if you take the ferry, 10 min max.

We will probably be extremely busy with all the preparations, but we will have one guy dedicated to answering the phone and helping ppl find their way.

What about a car-pool thread here on aw??

I noticed someone from the Netherlands are coming. I've talked to two more guys that's also thinking about coming. Even if you're traveling by plane, it's still more fun to be lost in a strange land when you have some one to talk Amiga to..

See you all!

juzz: yes there is room for one more, IF we go that way, not 100% decided yet..

i will let you know as soon as i know more...

just found out that storebelt (the 2 bridges) costs 1000 dkk return ticket!

and yes i hope there will be room for your a1+monitor + gear... have to see which car we will drive, but as i said i am not 100% sure if we will go that way at all.. YET! :)

That sounds like a sweet idea, absolutely.

(However, what if one was to bring a former-Amigan-now-turned-wintel friend, will you provide a separate corner for those - like a kiddie-table and an adult-table? Or will traitors be refused at the door?? )

By the way, any idea between what times the doors will be open?

The general idea is 12:00 to around 17-18:00. It's not finalised yet, but it will be in the near future and put up on the site.

And yeah, we'll have a special table at the restaurant for intel folks ;)

We're thinking about letting people join the organisers/exhibitors at Tres that wants to. I don't see why not, it'd only be nice.

Perhaps a thread could be started about renting a mini-van or bus from some central cities.. like Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.. and people could book tickets or something. This would be something that the organisers of AmiGBG would have no part of, but would be taken care of entirely by the visitors.. perhaps this is an idea worth pursuing?

Cool! When do we eat???

(I just registered for a ticket from the web page, I figure I'll send the payment along with my other bills by the end of the month...now, let's just hope I'll actually be able to go! )
