Introducing Tabor and the A1222 |
| hardware OS4 posted by amigakit on 1-Nov-2015 22:01:15 (22741 reads) |
Introducing Tabor and the A1222 A powerful, low cost, entry level PowerPC motherboard San Francisco 19th October 2015
A-EON Technology Ltd is pleased to announce that Tabor, a new powerful, low cost, entry level PowerPC motherboard, which forms part of our A1200 series, is about to undergo beta testing.
As part of our drive to create more powerful lower cost, entry level hardware and expand the Next-Generation user base we commissioned Ultra Varisys to create a new PowerPC motherboard. The result is Tabor, a 170 mm x 170 mm mother-board based on a Freescale QorIQ P1022 32-bit e500v2 dual-core PowerPC processor running at 1.2 GHz. Prototypes have already been shipped to key developers and members of A-EON Technology’s Core Linux support team and, as a result, several Linux distributions are already up and running on the Tabor board. Working in cooperation with ACube srl, a beta test programme is about to commence, which is already over-subscribed.
The full system is designated the AmigaOne A1222.

AMIStore: CANDI Prefs Update & New Autumn Theme |
| software OS4 posted by amigakit on 21-Oct-2015 19:19:41 (3990 reads) |
Workbench CANDI Prefs utility Updated preferences tool for Workbench CANDI with Autumn Theme added
A-EON Technology Ltd is pleased to announce an update to CANDI Prefs, the preferences utility for Workbench CANDI. A new Autumn theme featuring falling leaves has also been added.
Workbench CANDI introduced the world of composite desktop animation to the AmigaOS. Utilising the power of the hardware compositing engine built into the RadeonHD drivers, CANDI totally integrates with the AmigaOS Workbench and uses the graphics card's GPU to deliver smooth Workbench animations without compromising hardware performance.
Whether it's wispy clouds with a rotating Boing Ball or shimmering, silvery bubbles gently floating upwards and over a retro Amiga Copper background, the CANDI animation effects are simultaneously calming and impressive.
CANDI is fully compatible with the AmigaOS screen dragging feature and more importantly works seamlessly with hardware accelerated compositing video playback introduced with the RadeonHD v2.4 drivers.
The new CANDI Prefs utility enables full control of the dynamic CANDI powered Workbench and incorporate the following key features:-
* Workbench CANDI can be started from WBStartup prefs or manually from the CANDI Prefs icon. * Ability to choose single or multiple CANDI backdrops and automatically cycle between them. * A new custom static backdrops option. * Choose between dynamic and static CANDI backdrops and automatically cycle between them. * Mix dynamic CANDI animations with custom static backdrops. * Change the cycle/rotation time for both dynamic and static backdrops. * A LowCPU option for machines with less powerful CPUs. * Enable or disable Ringhio notifications while starting and changing an animated background. * Turn CANDI backdrops ON/OFF or Stop animation from the Prefs application.
Candi Prefs and Autumn Theme are part of the Workbench CANDI package, FREE to existing users and is available from AMIStore for new users.
Recommended System requirements : AmigaOS4.1 - Final Edition, RadeonHD v2.10 drivers, a higher specification RadeonHD gfx card
