| A new document has been published on the Icaros Website. It explains how to create a bootable AROS pendrive using the recently released Icaros Desktop 1.2.2 update disc. The resulting pendrive can be used both to boot the system (on motherboards which allow booting from this kind of devices), and to install Icaros on the hard drive (like live CD/DVDs). It may be good to use or install the distribution on laptops without a optical drive, like netbooks and many "light" notebooks, or to allow booting AROS on systems with unsupported devices or controllers. Instructions are available in PDF format, so you'll need Adobe Acrobat or a compatible reader to view them, like for instance ArosPDF.

Part 4: The correct number of Boing Balls
Despite our best attempts to hide them in the most obscure places, amazingly, seven of you managed to find all 28 Boing Balls hidden in and around the Anniversary puzzle picture. Therefore we had to call on the AmigaWorld moderators to choose the outright winner and after much deliberation they chose drHirudo as the win…. (Psst! what do mean he’s already won 2 prizes?) cough, shuffle, silence, ahem!
After much deliberation Vincent Perkins aka Amigang was chosen as the lucky winner! Congratulations to Amigang who will receive an Amiga Future Mouse mat donated by Amiga Future magazine (and a special pair of drHirudo’s glasses )
And many thanks again to Amiga Future for donating the Mouse Mat for the Boing Ball prize.

It's time for a bumper update of Amiga Games That Weren't!
The Harold the Hairy Hermit entry has been revisited to add some more input from its musician, Kevin Osborne, and second programmer, Nigel Critten. Kevin has also kindly supplied some MP3s of the game's score.

Timberwolf Alpha 1 released |
| Software News posted by RuDeE on 9-Jun-2010 14:29:19 (19271 reads) |
From Amigabounty.net:
Quote:
We have to apologize for the long absence. Workload, personal issues and other things slowed down development considerably.
However, we're finally able to make the first binary release of Timberwolf. This is going to be an Alpha version, meaning it will be prone to crashing and misbehavior, it will be slow, and not all functionality is implemented yet.
Future plans include an update to the latest baseline source code of Firefox (3.7 beta), an Amiga-specific theme, as well as a major rewrite of the rendering code. The current version of the rendering code (Did we mention it's an alpha release ?) has some conceptual problems that will lead to misrenderings, and massive overdraw (some webpages might be rendered 2 to 8 times, you may notice the window will turn black several times during page buildup).
Feedback is welcome; please point your browsers at http://amigans.net and visit the Timberwolf support forum.
Have fun with the first release.
