Its great news that Hyperion Supported - Hardware from a company that builds and supports the Amiga community. This is a big incentive for ACube & Genesi now to produce even more units. I like this path, i guess Hyperion saw it is a path of least resistance.

I'm sorry but I really don't understand the decision to support a few more hundreds of second hand boards whilst there are tens of thousands of Mac Mini's and also Powerbooks to run OS 4 on.

What about the firmware ?
Does this mean there is an openfirmware loader for OS4/Pegasos ? Or the firmware must be flashed with UBoot ?

Ooops, has already been answered.

And why not this HW, why not that... what other HW will there be for blabla.
Do you think they will tell you until its ready and if ? You didnt know about PegII before the news come up ?. Some people dont learn.

Sorry im in bad mood :D

EDIT: Still in bad mood ;)

EDIT2: Hope to see more os4 users now. Welcome folks

Well, this would be great news except they don't make the PegII anymore. A mini release would have been better! Not in production, but widely available . . .

How many peg2 there is?

IIRC, I read that there is only little over 400 registered MOS users, so Peg2 amount can not be much bigger???

Then, why this port???
There will be only a few copies sold?

Is Peg2 production starting again?
By ACube?

????

/me selling my MacMiniG4 & going for Peg2 to sit next to my SAM.

I think that one of the Friedens brothers is the lucky owner of a Pegasos
machine, and they decided long time ago to support it. You can read posts
about this on the internet.

Some friend of mine told me not to sell my Pegasos 2, because it was going
to be woth the wait, the moment is here. We can enjoy both OS4 and
MorphOS.

I'd say it's much more. Only small percentage of Peg2 owners I know have regged the commercial MorphOS... because of the financial situation ;)

No one for OS 4 ilegally, as it is coning legally,
and forget about PPC Macs, they are also "soon unavailiable" hardware

Great news for Pegasos owners

CONGRATULATIONS!

Now, I would like to see MorphOS layer for Amiga OS
and so much of the evil wars. As well as optomized AROS
for AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS

Amiga finally goes PowerPC 2009

Efika is likely to be next.

And lucky Pegasos owners got to use Altivec, G4 CPU and AGP 4x slot.
Now they only need better Radeon AGP drivers.

Hiowever, SAM still has SATA and DDR RAM on his side,
as well as M9 that should outperform Radeons up to 9600
and Pegasos is no longer availiable.

The "Welcome to OUR side" is nice logo, but still ironic a bit ...
http://www.acube-systems.biz/

So it does not change reality much,
but brings joy to my heart.

Thanks, Belgium guys. You and Italy might save the Friendly Girl OS

@Rogue

Are there any future plan on OS 4.1 to support GigaBit ethernet and IEEE1394 Pegasos's ports ?

BTW we need also USB 2.0 support, but for Sam

In other news, Satan is shoveling snow off his sidewalks. Dude... Wiggy. It's great to see another bit of hardware supported with OS4.x. At least all those generic PPC devs who got OWD machines have a slightly larger than before second hand market to resell them to now. :) But, if Peg is supported, then OpenFirmware must be supported. And that gives hope to more announcements for more OpenFirmware machines in the future. Glad to see a little purple stuff going on out there once in a while!
