Why is there a need to proof things which everyone knows. Like the continuned answers to tons of questions regarding Amiga Incs OS 4 plans, despite of the agreement to sell AOS4 to Itec which had happened long ago.

What does everyone know, then? Why are you folks always so knowledgable when in reality you don't have the slightest idea what is going on?

Ok, this whole thing is highly dubious anyway. For example that lately it was said that ITec (and later KMos) only got AOS Version until 3.x. Despite the press releases which talked about all OS Versions including 4.x. So if I'm allowed to make a random wild conspiracy theory it's not unlikely that Fleecy (or anyone else) at that time did not know either that in x months (x < 12) it will haven been 12 months since they did that ITec deal ... time travels ... paradoxon ...

Beg your pardon, but I don't see any reason to explain internal workings of that contract. You are welcome to ask this question to Garry Hare on the IRC conference, but my feeling tells me you don't have the guts anyway.

@ Rogue

I understand that you are upset about some of the repetitive attacks coming from the usual suspects (such as on your IMO admirably Q&A and OO efforts), but Realize / Magnetic's repetitive confrontational behaviour has gotten him to have his posting priviledges removed for the coming two weeks. After this any further intentional effort to cause flames will be dealt with with exponentially tougher counter measures.

@ All

So please anyone wanting to address Realize's postings from this point on, do so privately.

Uh, the fact that the VIA southbridge has bugs is definitely known...

Uh, sorry, didn't read your post until I posted this

What everyone knows is that answers has been giving to "Amiga Incs plan regarding AOS4" questions long after the time that they went into agreement to sell AOS to ITec.
It's is not a "very normal thing" to talk about the plans with AOS4 if you are selling or have already sold the OS.

So the point is: no effort of any kind is needed to find something weird/dubious in the Q&As.

Instead quite some effort is needed, to *not* find anything in the Q&A which is weird/dubious.

@ Mike

the keepers here edit 'where I live' only allow one hour per month
unsupervised browsing, and that based on
good behaviour points edit 'earned here where I live'
. So Moobunny is maybe
seen twice a year, edit 'here where I live', in my state of mind... 8')
Why they don't allow mirrors in this joint edit 'where I live'
is beyond me!

edited to make good people happy 8')

Believe me, I wish that wouldn't be needed. For example, just imagine what would happen if there would be no "supervision" during the actual IRC session. Past experience learns us that during live interviews there will be childish people abusing such oppertunities to troll or flood the channel. IMO this thread is no different.

With increased traffic there's usually also an increase of nonsense (for example Slashdot) and we certainly have grown quite a bit recently.

Any further off topic posting will be deleted! Feel free to PM DaveyD *if* you have *genuine* concerns.

[edit] Due to personal reasons I stepped down as Administrator, I would like to thank Mikey and DaveyD for trying to make me reconsider. [/edit]

*Edited, reason: Off topic*

@thread
Great news about the chat! Let's see if I have the time to sit and listen for a while.
Maybe ask a question even.

Perhaps there should be an Eyetech IRC session instead?

Hi
Because AmigaOne / MicroA1 can use standard PC components, is there any plan to use "Vendor Managed Inventory" business model, or Monorail Business Model?

@asian

VMI? Have you _any_ idea how expensive this is to implement??

I deal with VMI with a large chain box store and let me tell you it isn't for the faint of heart. The cost of setting up VMI (with all the supporting EDI transactions) would be prohibitive for someone doing such small volumes as Eyetech.

My thumb-suck guess is that unless you are doing > $50 million turnover per year it isn't worth the expense. You need dedicated employees to manage your relations with each vendor, manage the EDI system itself, the interface to your internal system, etc... Then you need the communications infrastructure (redundant), possibly a VAN, etc, etc....

Ciao

@rossv

Its sad.....

You wouldn't think to ask Steve Jobs if he owns/uses a Mac.
I mean effectively, Garry is the Steve Jobs of Amiga.

Its even sadder that Garry probably doesn't own/use an Amiga of any kind.

We really do need a Technical Evangelist........And who's that....Fleecy(CTO)?

Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

@BigBentheAussie:

More accurate would be asking Steve Jobs twenty years ago if he used an Apple 2. Back then, the standard business machine was a PC/XT and the apple 2 was just a hobbyist machine.

@ Mike...and cheerful moderators

alas alas, I refer to the keepers 'here', where I live,
not to any moderators 'there' , at AWN...where this
message goes. Time to go back and edit for
clarity... 8')
